Re: What I bought today
Got a new Maersk 10155 boat today from a Gumtree ad.
Tried to buy another Maersk 10219 Train from Justbricks.com.au who has had it listed @ $250 but they suddenly put the price up (2 days ago) to $319. Price gouging at it's finest. Sent them an email about it but got the usual generic BS as a response.

Re: What I bought today
Just received Maersk 10152 from the U.S this morning and sincerely annoyed. Bought it from a professional seller at a premium price and the idiots pack it in a flimsy worn out box and of course it got crushed-in en route. Seriously are people braindead or just so stingy that they have to recycle old worn out boxes? And for an international order too... dead set dumb. I've sent them a complaint but expecting some generic BS reply like they all love to do in order to shirk responsibility.
Never order from a Bricklink shop named 'SetsPlus' unless you don't care about item condition.

Have had this for a few days now but only just unpacked and am planning a fun filled evening building it tonight
And yes I started unpacking it and then realised I hadn't posted.. I get a bit excited with new sets

Great set, congrats. I have to stop buying sets from Big W and order some Modulars online before they start retiring more.

Re: What I bought today
I put another Town Square, another Friends Pool and another Creator house on lay bye this morning, planning on combining 2 x town squares and 2 x friends pools to make larger sets. The second Creator house is because I really like one of the alternate builds.

Re: What I bought today
So today I bought this:
(Sorry for the sideways photo, but I'm really not in the mood, I've tried to spin it about 4 times and it just won't work for me... )
Found it on Gumtree for $250 in Sydney, so no postage so that's about as cheap as I'll find it. I wasn't going to get this modular, but some folks over on Eurobricks persuaded me haha. Now all I need to do is to Bricklink Market Street, and I'll have the full set!!!!

the Market street is not really worth it unless you really want to complete the set. it's the poorest quality build of all of them, and you will kill yourself to get some of the rarer parts.... i made a red/white one last year from the instructions, and all in all in was not impressed with it. you cannot furnish the inside due to the way it is built with the staircase in the middle of the room.

a busy life had put the monorail on hold, but a quiet weekend finally allowed me to build it.. and it works fine!!
i've decided it will probably not live forever in this form. i think im going to use it to build a city-based monorail, a 2013 airport shuttle.
and here is a draft:

Yeah I've already had a play around with it on LDD, including replacing the dark blue 1 x 4s etc with light bley on the sides and backs, and I have most of the door components or similar in my collection which are unused atm. The only things I really need is the front door and the dark blue arches (which I've seen on EB will be in the new Winter Village set coming out in OCtober, so that could work very well for me ). I must admit I am a bit of a completest...

Re: What I bought today
So I got Olivia's house yesterday, Its a decent set that is way overpriced. If you build the set as an entire house back, front, walls and roof its not very big at all and its RRP is over $100 where as the new Creator home is bigger and doesn't cost nearly as much. I do like some of the extra bits and interior stuff with this Friends set but still a tad disappointed. If I bought another one and combined the two it would make a really beaut house.
