What I bought today
Speaking of Shell, it took me quite a while to find a boxed version of this set -
Re: What I bought today
I just finished putting together this from Bricklink orders. My most wanted set as a kid.

Re: What I bought today
I bought another Friends turtle set, Im using them as tortises for my zoo. Bonus is I get another clam in the set.
Plus I bought a brown bear and white wolf and another bunch of parts from brinklink. Im spending way too much on Lego, I have a serious problem.
I need to stop buying parts for a while and get those damm Modulars before they become discontinued.

That is very nice. I hate to admit that I think I can build that train out of spare parts. I got an extra motor a while back when I bought a couple of 7740s and I have a stash of windows and doors. The only difficulty would be the 12V train wheels, but 9V ones run better anyway.

Re: What I bought today
I've started to look at Homemaker and Fabuland as being themes to collect and play with just lately. I'm seriously thinking of including a Fabuland suburb on my layout as I find myself curiously attracted to this older theme with its delightful primary colours and big chunky set pieces.

Re: What I bought today
Fabuland? Thought you were more of the Friends type Annie? I used to have a few of those Fabuland story books when I was a child, theyre missing now of course.
Anyway an old space set arrived. And the other shipment I was waiting for won't come till early next week.

Re: What I bought today
Ooooo more classic Space Another good find for your collection Kaila.
I've had a few Fabuland pieces drifting around in my storage boxes for a while now, only there really wasn't enough of them to do anything with. There was something about them though which appealed to my inner child so I thought I'd buy some more Fabuland pieces so at least I could create a village corner somewhere on my layout.
Yes i am more of a Friends type, but on the other hand my layout is fast becoming a meeting place of several themes so i thought, 'Why not..,' and went ahead with hunting down Fabuland bits and bobs. I've got a bid in on a 3667 unboxed Bakery set at the moment which is looking promising.

Re: What I bought today
I remember that bakery too. Never had Fabuland but friends did.
Really annoyed (again), was bidding on the old Town post office and forgot about the stupid 'confirm bid' button. So made my bid with 3 seconds to go thinking all is fine and then up pops the confirm button and I couldnt click it fast enough. Boo

Ooooooo what a disappointment >>>>>>HUGS<<<<<<<
Before they put the fibre optic cables in around here the lag was so bad and unpredictable on my internet connection that I wouldn't dare try putting in any last second bids. Last two or three minutes maybe, but try for seconds and you could forget it.

Use bidnapper, its free and you will always get the last bid on an item. It automatically bids for you.

Re: What I bought today
^The Turtle is my favourite, he is the only 'Friends' pet to make it into my Lego land so far, I think I will be tempted with the Friends Dolphins that come with the Cruiser and probably the little fawn from series 2 poly bags.
Nice little Paradisa set, I want that set someday for my beach front, I love how the bike has never aged over time.

Re: What I bought today
I have just been told 42000 (F1 car) will be waiting for me tonight, thanks to my wonderful wife.
Re: What I bought today
7750 arrived and it's truly a gem! All trays including the plastic cover, full unused sticker sheet, PC instructions and bricks. Box has some wear but reasonable. Very happy, I want a second! I was also pleasantly surprised at the size of the box, thought it would be smaller.
Re: What I bought today
That's a great looking train, It would still look good in a modern city.

Re: What I bought today
Yes 7750 is a great looking set and so rare now to find boxed and in such nice condition. I hadn't seen pictures of the alternative build tank engine before though and I'm thinking that I might have a go at building a copy since I have a spare 12volt motor bogie hanging about at the moment.
