Re: What I bought today
Some day I'm going to build a site just for set's like this to display precise packaging etc. Honestly out of all my sets this is favorite, I seriously want to get a second. The box size is quite unique given it appears to be just a simple loco and coal carriage, it's not far off 7722 size. Unopened sets of this are going for over $3000 on Bricklink! If only I could go back in time and raid the shelves.. As a child I remember seeing it in a small toy store in Redcliffe back in the early 80's.. if only..Locomotive Annie wrote:Yes 7750 is a great looking set and so rare now to find boxed and in such nice condition. I hadn't seen pictures of the alternative build tank engine before though and I'm thinking that I might have a go at building a copy since I have a spare 12volt motor bogie hanging about at the moment.
Re: What I bought today
During a visit to K-Mart I managed to pick up two of the rare Large Blue Collectable Minifigures Cases for $19.00 each which is great value
Re: What I bought today
The ugly 7720 came today and it's in a lot better condition than I expected for being a BL purchase. Plastic trays are present unfaded and clean, instruction is perfect and bricks are excellent condition. Stickers on train and rest on a.... CD cover lol. Thats the only down side though. Bit of sticky tape on the box nothing major.
Re: What I bought today
Your collection of early trainsets is growing Kaila.. This latest set looks to be in nice condition too.

During a visit to Big W I managed to pick up a Trendsetter from the Collectable Minifgures Series # 10.
I also managed to score a very rare Large White Collectable Minifigure Case from K-Mart to specifically hold my collection of Policemen from the Collectable Minifgures Series # 9 !!!

Oh the dilemma, - that perfect virgin sealed box vs the desire for its contents.

Re: What I bought today
Yesterday I bought 2 mini figs series 10, was hoping for the trendsetter and sea captain but got the stupid bumblebee girl and the old man, I like the old man he is cool. Also got the new porcupine poly bag, I only bought it for the 2 red leaves, It looks more like an echidna than a porcupine. I might use it in my zoo, I can't decide if I'm going to use Friends animals in my layout.

Re: What I bought today
Yesterday a mate of mine sold me a complete box of the Collectable Minifigures Series 10 which has worked to be reasonably cheaper than having to buy them from any of the local stores.
At least I can enjoy the luxury of having mutiples of the ones I prefer instead of feeling through packets and passing one to others some that they require for their own collection within the members of the TAZ-Brick Collectors Club

Right well I took a picture and uploaded but can't paste the link so no photo I'm afraid (my internet's broken so I'm having to use my phone )
But my Maersk train arrived today :D pretty happy about that...
Although it came set up (second hand set from bricklink), a bit weird I thought, so I didn't get to build it. I flipped thru the instructions tho haha

Oh No, the same thing happened to me with the Limo/helicopter set, It turned up on a Friday, I had my bottle of Vodka in hand and all ready to build it and I opened the box and it was done.
It would be much worse with your train set though, you should ask the seller for a 20% return discount.

Nice, I will take all your trendsetters and sea captain's, hehe. I love the dog and seagull that comes with them two plus the trendsetter is pretty cool herself, new hairstyle and all, its obviously meant to be Paris Hilton. Oh and I like the nerdy girl too, she reminds me of Amy from the Big Bang Theory.

That is a really cool set and I've been tempted to buy it more than once. Sounds like you got it for a good price.
