Not a bad price for Gumtree considering most of the stuff on there is a total rip-off these days I saw a Maersk train on there for $260 which wasnt bad but he's in the ACT (Ya like who actually chooses to live there )
Saw another one just near me but the dreamer wants like $330
Good to see you found something nice and at a decent price

Re: What I bought today
Finally ordered another Maersk 10219. Why O why did I not buy 3 or 4 back when it was $130 >_< instead in that particular overseas order I bought a sopwith camel and stupid Olivia's house which are all too common and easy to find even now. So angry at myself for that. These days since focusing a lot more on trains those kinds of mistakes (especially regarding a beautiful set like the Maersk) are painful. Coulda had 2 of them for the price just paid

The Maersk train is such a great set the locomotive is really impressive and just seems more powerful than other Lego Trains, i wish i had bought another myself before they jumped up in price, i think i paid around the $190 for mine that was a while ago now.

Similar story over here, been checking everyday but sadly no good 80's trains appear to be coming up on ebay recently.

I like the Grand Emporium too and thankfully it survived one of the most traumatic misfortunes I had transporting it a year ago !!!
Unfortunately my Fire Brigade wasn't so lucky

Re: What I bought today
Unfortunately no pictures, but today I made my last 3 Bricklink orders for my Green Grocer so excited! It cost only around $400 all up, incl postage, and that's still $200 cheaper than the cheapest BL'd set for sale and $300 cheaper than a used complete set, and the only brick substitution i made was 1 x 4 sand green bricks instead of the 1 x 8 sand greens (which are like $4 each, and you need 50 of them ) so i'm very pleased all up now i just have to wait 2-3 weeks for the parts to actually get here

Re: What I bought today
I bought a couple more Medieval Market Village (10193) since they were cheap and they're a great parts pack. And you can never have too many cows. Or turkeys

How much are you picking these up for again? Speaking of extra's I got my 2nd Maersk train delivered today. Still regretting not buying 4 of these when they where cheap..

i did the same thing for mine. prices for sand green 1x8 bricks is ridiculous.
mine cost ~$320ish i think. if you ditched the sand green all together, it would be easy to bring the budget in by $100.

Excuse my ignorance but which parts list/instructions do you guys use to build these older modulars? Where do you find/download them?

I find Bricklink is the best place to get this.
For example, Go to bricklink.com, chose 'Catalog items' from the drop-down menu,
search for the set name/number,
when you have found the set you are after, click 'view inventory'.

It depends how old the set is, but there are instructions in pdf for free on lego.com in the customer service section, if it's an older set and they don't have listed anymore I use brickinstructions.com and just view it off the computer. But heap of sites have free pdf versions of most sets...

Re: What I bought today
Today i bought The monster fighters haunted house from my local K-mart store. ,
Bit of a Bizarre story here When i asked at my local K-mart store a few weeks ago about when they would be getting The Lone Ranger sets in , the guy in the toy dept said, This K-mart has no intention to stock any of the Lone Ranger Sets but a new line will be coming instead in the next week. To my surprise it was the Monster Fighters Haunted House ( which isn't quite new), however i am still baffled about why my local K-mart will not stock The Lone Ranger sets while other k-mart stores around 50km away do.So any way i picked up the haunted house.
