Re: My Lego City
oh, lol, and here I am only buying $10 sets,. . I never go higher than $50,, I thought i'd have a week sorting my lego out, , may, I am going to build all 900 sets. I counted 50 000 pieces of lego, last holidays, funny enough I only have 5 houses in 900sets, from, 1970 - 2013 , I have the 1982 blue house, the 1981 white house, as you have . and the paradise pink house from 1990 , a yellow house and another red house, from 1970 lego which was basically because I like the .. introductory sets,. just for the doors and windows, , I always get them . in case I need more windows, so I add 4 sets together to make a big house,. I guess I just like $10 sets though , for that value ..

Re: My Lego City
I should have said, I bought a whole batch of box 6119, roof tiles, because, back in the day , I bought the sets without roofs, and thought my city lego would look funny without roofs, so , I bought up all the boxes of 6119 red roof pieces, as well as some lego star wars,

Thanks 'PrincessLime'
The cinema is a MOD from the Town Plan set 10184, and i have a further extension planned for it too just trying to save the $$ so i can buy the brick
And re: the airport:
I should have put this shot in rather than the first one...
You don't think i'd leave my poor minifigs with no way to travel!!!!

Re: My Lego City
Nice airport Timmy
Airports must be about the most difficult thing to fit into a city or townscape. Full sized airports take up huge amounts of land area and even one or two rural towns where I've lived that've had an aerodrome of the grass field and a few tin sheds variety would still need a very big space to represent them to scale in Lego. Of course the answer lies in the suspension of disbelief and the joy of letting out our inner child who couldn't care less about aerodynamics and the laws of physics

Re: My Lego City
Thanks Annie,
and yeah you're too right about the airports haha. When i finished this layout i looked at the airport and thought, "hopefully the plane isn't landing or taking off while the train is running on that part of the track!!"
But then i pretended i didn't see that and swiftly moved on hehe
And i think there's a beach in the Caribbean where the planes land almost on the beach, that's the look i was going for here

haha thats true, My problem will be finding enough runway base plates, I have a full 2.5m x 1m space for my airport I just need to find that really cool big and old airport set (the one with 10 mini figs) plus an extra 5 or 6 matching runway plates.

Cool vid, what it needs is some close up shots of mini figs etc, funny ones are always good like a mini fig slipping over on a banana or the classic my cat is stuck up a tree. I notice you have a wedding going on so maybe a close up of that and some of your original paradisa beach sets are classics so some close ups of those (people feeding the dolphins etc) will add interest and make the whole city feel more alive.

It's a WIP MOD of the Town Plan service station. As you can probably see, parts of the roof are missing and the interior is rather bare atm. It will eventually house the Octan Energy Company's HQ... And it's modular ready too :D

Re: My Lego City
Cats seem to like layout boards. I'm sure they think that they've been setup for their benefit and can't understand the fuss when humans get upset with them for sitting in the middle of them.

When I suggested to get a photo of a cat stuck in a tree I didn't think you would take it to such extreme's,
