Hello all,

I just wanted to give you a bit of a sneak peak of the new layout, maybe call it a teaser.... I'm hoping to have the layout finished early June. Anyway, here's the photo: (excuse the saw dust, there's been an addition to the shelf, I was cutting wood)

Right so, early June has been and gone and I'm still not much closer to finishing my layout, however I did some work on it today and am hoping to finish it off over the next few days, but I have taken another teaser shot for y'all...

My Lego City - Page 4 9171995897_57e595c44e

Note the construction workers, they are working over time to try and finish things off, but they will soon run out of materials, so they may feature as part of the layout....

More pics soon tho legoeyeshutlaughing

AARRRRGGGGG......WHOHOOOOOOOOO LOUD ENOUGH FOR YA! jk.
City is looking good, You have added a lot over the last few months....Im pretty jealous of all your new Modulars. I will have some new pic updates soon, probably this week, it will only be of actual buildings etc as I still need to clear a space to start my layout. My Mum and Dad have been and gone so my LEGO has started to creep back into my life, It was so hard to hide it all!

My Lego City - Page 4 Empty Public Library MOD

Post by timmyc1983 Thu 12 Sep 2013, 3:34 pm

Hey all,

I decided to add my MOCs and MODs to this topic rather than make a new one each time, and given all of my MOCs will find somewhere in my city to nestle is makes sense legoeyeshutlaughing

So recently I bought the modular Town Hall and realised very quickly a town cannot have two Town Halls, so I decided to tunr the old Town Hall from 10184 into a Public Library for the citizens to enjoy  legohappy

My Lego City - Page 4 9731819740_211b64c4fe

So here it is, as per usual with my MODs, I tried to stay as true to the original as possible. It is 32 x 32 with nothing much out the back.

My Lego City - Page 4 9728578565_a97d276513

The bottom floor is the main section of the library with most of the books from all eras.

My Lego City - Page 4 9728573035_5158a330ab

The second floor has study desks as well as the older books, the librarian calls this the 'serious' part of the library... Shhhh!

My Lego City - Page 4 9731797202_a834a35c1f

And the top floor is the multimedia area with 4 computers and ample space to sit and read with several couches and a hideous rug which was donated to the library.

I hope you like it and there are many more pics on my flickr photostream, esp of the interior. I must admit by the time I got to the top floor I got sick of the interior, so it's not 100% finished... But the first two floors I put a lot of work into the interiors. legohappy

Love to know what y'all think legoeyeshutlaughing

Thanks LT, the bookcases were my favourite part of the MOD legohappy

And if I wanted to I could revert it back to its original state with no problems, the only change is I'm using the two black plates which usually form the roof for my next MOC, but other than that all the original bricks are present, but I know how much you love your open backed city buildings legolaugh

Very cool and BIG too. Looks a little gothic which I like and the dark green makes for a nice change to most city buildings, nice work on the interior, I only ever do interiors near the windows where you can see in, legolaugh

Thanks Ajax, it's almost as tall as the Town Hall modular! Yeah I really liked working with the dark green, it's a great colour. And as you may have noticed I get bored with interiors as go along... I start off all gun ho but normally the top floor gets neglected hehe

I realised I forgot to post my new MOC here, it's a modular Music Store and as usual there are more photos on my flickr stream.

My Lego City - Page 4 9775447964_ce6070085d

It is 32 x 32 and about 3200 bricks. The façade is made entirely out of plates.

My Lego City - Page 4 9775395974_330734e344

The bottom floor is record shop full of CDs and vinyl with a cash register and store room.

My Lego City - Page 4 9775848693_1d523c2f57

The first floor is the musical instrument section of the store, fully stocked with a grand piano, a drum kit, several types of guitars and a couple of other instruments.

My Lego City - Page 4 9775568611_ef3cd46134

The second floor is a recording studio fully equipped with an upright piano, a drum kit, guitars and all the latest recording equipment.

My Lego City - Page 4 9775515783_fce83ca50d

And the roof is where the party's at! With a jacuzzi for all the stars and their groupies, the roof is only accessible via the recording studio.

Anyway, that's the latest addition to my town, although I haven't rearranged things yet to fit it, the Town Hall and the Library in yet.

I'm also thinking of steering clear of Eurobricks, it seems like you have to be in select group of people before your work gets decent praise, has anyone else noticed this cliquieness?

Hello all,

I want to share a quick one with you all, a new edition to my beloved Emerald Night train. I have MOD'd a Second CLass carriage for it, mainly because the tan windows are so expensive, I omitted them for some dark green 1 x 2 x 3s and am quite happy with the result. For now I just made one, but there may be more down the track when I get some more $$, and I may even try my hand at some other types of carriages too (like a mail or third class). Anyway, here it is:
