Been grazing that idea myself Jigsaw as had a lot of 78' -> 86' era Space sets when young, plan was on hold for a while though because of train sets. If you want them with complete boxes they are rather dear from what I've researched so far on BL ;_;
@Snaplock, what you got there does look very commendable for the price considering
Re: What I bought today
Yes I've moved on to collecting the 90's trains and here's another one. Picked it up off ebay (yes ebay lol) seems to be a strange phenomena for me recently that I'm finding better deals and better quality stuff on ebay rather than Bricklink... very odd indeed.
The set is sealed and given it's age I probably will keep it that way. I do try to find opened sets but with the 90's stuff it seems like the box is either trashed or missing OR you can just pay a hundred dollars more and get it MISB.. another strange phenomena... but I'm coming across it with great frequency. Don't ask me to explain it, maybe kids in the 90's just like to trash their stuff

Re: What I bought today
Managed to pick up a piece of Exxon, finding a boxed version of this was actually much easier than finding it's boxed Shell counterpart (the one in my sig)
Re: What I bought today

Funny story the Seller had it on ebay but only had a stock picture of the small digger in the description, So it looked like they were trying to Charge $98.50 for the digger
however in the description paragraph it said it was the Construction set. so i sent them a Msg, and with about 18 minutes left in the auction they replied saying it was a set, they just hadn't added the pictures to the Ebay description yet.
i got them to send me more Pics of it.and then with 30secs left on the auction i had placed a the starting bid $98.50
Sometimes you get lucky on ebay , a while back i managed to get the Lego City Cargo Train 7939 for $150 with free pickup.
Guess sometimes it pays off spending hours & hours on Ebay lol

Re: What I bought today
Decided to build something new so picked up the Ambulance and the Garbage truck that other people have shown in the last couple of pages. Were reasonably fun to put together but I'd like to pick up something like one of those modular buildings that looks like it would take a decent amount of time to build.

first time i built a modular (the grand emporium) out of the box it took me 7hours. 2nd time i built it (sorted into each floor) it took 2hours.
had a blast the whole time, and the end result is wicked.

Re: What I bought today
That's a very good price. I ended up getting one for around $120, and at the time, that was a bargain in my eyes. It's a very nice set as well, very large too.
