Great find! These older sets have a wonderful appeal and simplicity about them which is very attractive.

Post by Locomotive Annie Mon 11 Mar 2013, 2:21 am

A pile of the old grey era track arrived in the post this morning. I was really pleased as it had a level crossing piece as well as a black loco base with buffers and the older magnetic couplers with the built in uncoupling pin.

This means that I'll be able to get on with finishing some more of the tracklaying which will cheer me up no end.

Just remember, Fox Studios have said

''We can confirm that discussions with Lego have taken place but there are no initiatives to announce at this time''.

So don't get to excited.

those trees are worth a bit too now, and still compatible with modern variations.

This arrived in the post this morning......
What I bought today - Page 34 OliviasDesk_zpse33ee842

I'd ordered this Olivia's Desk polybag sometime ago and was starting to get worried at the delay with it arriving. Once I had the packet in my hands though all was revealed as it was stamped, 'Misdirected to Thailand' ! Makes me wonder how often it happens since the post office folk actually seem to have a proper rubber stamp for the purpose. legolaugh

Very cool Polybag Annie, what is printed on the pink tile laying on the desk?

I am thinking of buying a few friends sets, they seem to have a lot of unique Pieces & colors for town moc's.
Not sure how im going to explain to my partner that im buying "Girls lego" ( i personally just see it as Lego but she would say its for little girls) & shes only just gotten over the whole "lego is for kids" thing.

I guess i might have to sneak some sets home legoeyeshutlaughing

The pink tile is a mobile phone Snaplock legohappy

I really like the Friends sets despite this 'girl' being well into middle age. The sets have a lot of new parts, colours and construction ideas which are really worth having. If you're into fitting out buildings with interiors there are a good few useful pieces that can be transplanted into modulars and the like.

The lamp and computer are cool. I might have to get a few of these little polybags. I just bought Steph's convertable, Its a pretty cool car and fits 2 people across, One just needs to sit a fraction behind the other.

I just drove to Target to check if they had any of those poly bags, they only had the small season 1 pet poly bags so I bought the turtle one, the turtle is pretty cute. I said I wouldn't use any of the 'Friends' people or animals in my City layout but I have changed my mind, I am going to use the animals at least the kittens and the turtle so far. I don't know if the Friends Puppies will match the regular Lego dogs, they may look out of place a bit, not sure about that one yet.

The Girls are just so tall, they intimidate my lego men. I could build a catwalk and make them supermodels or something.
