That is precisely why I didn't want to get any of the tiny PotC sets. They all looked a bit lack lustre, particularly for the price. The Cannibal escape seemed like pretty good value at 20% off 39.00 though (considering Lego's retail price of 59.99).

Today I bought Chief's tepee, I'm a little bit confused about the purpose of the rotating totem and hidden compartment with a snake in it...but other than that it's not a bad little set.

I bought it off eBay from the UK and it just arrived today, sadly the box got a little crumpled in the post but the instructions are in pretty good condition for a 1997 set.

It's my first Indian set!

Ahhhhh you got the pet shop! I'm so jealous! I plan to order it just before my exams finish so I can build it on my holidays. No time at the moment sadly legosad Though i did manage to build my PotC ship and The London Escape a few nights ago. I love the ship but I am a little disappointed with the London Escape...Had i paid RRP i would have been even more disappointed.

Today I bought the Winter Village Bakery set! Found it in Mr. Toys. Powers of persuasion weren't good enough to secure the winter toy shop as well but i'm pretty happy with the set. They're priced at $95.00 for the bakery and $105 for the toy shop.

I feel quite cheated by those prices having paid $120 for the Bakery and $140 for the Toy Shop six months ago but anyway today I bought myself an opened packet of the Collectable Minfigures - Series 3 which happens to be one of my favourites being the Car Racer legohappy

Since I have lost my patience in waiting for the arrival of a package containing the Public Transport Set # 8404 I vented my boredom and frustration today into buying these below items.

1 x Creator Lighthouse Island # 5770
1 x Curve / T Junction Road Plate
1 x Blue Base Plate

Knowing my luck I will probably end up receiving the overdue package within the next 24 hours legorolleyes

Just bought the following items to improve my full scaled layout from Toyworld legohappy

1 x Banana Balance Game
1 x Doors and Windows # 6117
1 x Large Grey Baseplate

As a result I was given one die key ring for buying the game and another one being Ahsoka aka Star Wars for just being in the shop at the right time legolaugh

I left there quite pleased with my efforts and then went to K-Mart to buy a basic set to begin construction of a creation that I have in my mind at the moment !!!

I gt my brickforge vespas yesterday... hooray, they are awesome.

I also got guitars (acoustic and electric) violins, helmets, mushrooms... (and much more).

But I am now on a self imposed spending ban... *insert sad face here* :P

AnitaE,

I have also slapped a Lego spending ban on myself.

I have found that corn flakes taste better than plastic bricks in a bowl of milk.

I am actually sorting through all my discontinued projects and putting the elements in some logical place.

I am amazed at some of the bricks I have that were buried under a discarded failed attempt at a roller coaster.

I am doing the same thing, breaking down all my half done projects so I can use the bricks for new projects.

Although Matt just called me that he bought a shuttle and the harbor fishing boat from kmart. (He is worse than me now... I think it might be your fault (your creations inspired something in him) legoeyeshutlaughing

Post by Xyver Wed 06 Jul 2011, 7:52 am

Hi Everyone, I'm new on here so thought I'd add my latest purchases from the weekend:
5771 - Hillside House (Kmart matched the MYER advertised price so saved myself the extra drive)
4644 - Marina (haven't opened this one yet, thought I might save it for my daughter's Christmas present, not sure I'll make it though)
5512 - XXL Box 1600pieces, finally some spare bricks.

Could easily have bought more, but should really pace myself, my collection is only just starting.

After a while as a Lego addict, you realize that a tin of baked beans can be healthy as a main meal; just read the label to find out all the healthy things contained within.

Who needs to buy food when there is lego to be bought. After all, if you have spent all of your money on Lego, you could always eat the lego boxes.

Believe me, they taste just like dominos pizza.

Hello Xyver,

Welcome to ANZFOL.

It appears that you have had a successful shopping trip.

Good luck with the building. I'll have a little wager that the marina doesn't last until the end of the month.

Go on; admit it. You have already sliced the ends open so that you can see how many packets are in there. After all, she won't notice if you put sticky tape over the cut.

Don't feel guilty, we have all done it; I mean others, not me.

As a fellow Redlander, I am especially glad to welcome you.

There is quite a group of us Redlanders who have teamed up with the Brisbane Lego Train Group.

Details can be found at

http://www.bltg.org/index.html

We would love you to make contact with us.

We are not all into trains but we all have an interest in little plastic bricks.

We are all of ages and all other thingos; the great thing is that we can tell a brick from a plate modified.
