Re: What I bought today
Hi Brickie,
Thanks for the welcome.
Yes, I have had a decent look at the BLTG website, when is the next meeting on, I wouldn't mind dropping in and saying Hi if I can make it.
I've managed to avoid temptation so far, after building the hillhouse, I have spent some time building an icecream truck (not really happy with it, but don't have a lot of spare bricks) and just finished my playground this morning.

tasty,I was never one to hoard the boxes(chaff from the grain)I always just threw them out. what a waste of a meal.

After a while as a Lego addict, you realize that a tin of baked beans can be healthy as a main meal; just read the label to find out all the healthy things contained within.
Who needs to buy food when there is lego to be bought. After all, if you have spent all of your money on Lego, you could always eat the lego boxes.
Believe me, they taste just like dominos pizza.

Re: What I bought today
These toy sales are dangerous, just couldn't resist the Log Cabin and Lighthouse Island. Now to go and build them...
Re: What I bought today
Cool ice-cream truck and playground Xyver.
And I agree, toy sales are dangerous. (I am using lay buy this year, to spread out the pain

Re: What I bought today
Well I decided to just build the lighthouse and leave the cabin off, only slight modification was needed and it looks really good - it does actually light up too.[img][/img]
Re: What I bought today
Just bought a Designer Set House # 4886 from a fellow local brick enthusiast who sold it to me for just $30
The catch is that it is secondhand and there are a couple of pieces missing which can easily be replaced in good time !!!

Hello Xyver
As we have a train show in 2 weeks time, we won't be having any 'formal' meeting of BLTG for a while.
The best way to make contact with the group is via the web page or drop in to Bricks n Fun at Capalaba and introduce yourself. There is often one or two members there.
Even better would be to come to the train show at the Gold Coast and meet most of us in one go.

Re: What I bought today
Once my daughter came back from her holiday and saw my recent additions to the town, she made the comment 'There's no jail daddy, nowhere to put the bad guys' So yep, you guessed it, off to the toy sales again to pick up the police station (also grabbed the bank and money transfer too, but was going to anyway)
So now I have to re-arrange everything after making a few more houses with the brick set that I bought (cheated though, used the other designs from some of the creator sets with a few modifications as not enough of the right bricks)
So that'd be 6 sets and around $500 in these toy sales. Sure glad they don't happen too often! Plus, my town is now over-run with bad guys, they're everywhere.

Re: What I bought today
Picked up some of the alien conquest sets today from Target, suprisingly they still had plenty of the diagon alley sets, though none of the hogwarts sets left
I told myself no hogwarts no diagon alley and I was good and didnt spend a buttload

Re: What I bought today
It arrived......known as the legendary 6399 Legoland Airport Shuttle selling on bricklink for ridiculous amounts of $. It popped up on one of my e-bay searches an hour after the seller listed it . As I am a Monorail tragic and have both 6990 and 6991 in boxes (used) I have searched for this at a somewhat reasonable price for years. The seller was here in Aus and listed it as %100 with box in VGC and instructions as VGC. I bought it for $432 incuding postage as a best offer. . It arrived and was instantly assembled, short 3 pieces, 1of 1x2 plate black smooth. 2of 1x1 plate blue smooth. Too easy to replace from my own spares. . The pieces and the minifigs (9) were in fine shape for a 21year old set. The box and instructions were just short of VGC but in great shape nonetheless.
I finally understand what all the fuss is about this set..... there is something hypnotic about the the way the well designed train loops around and up and down between the two stations. I have left it running for the amusement of the cat (very amused) and for the 12year old to make it change direction and stop as he wished. Will pack it away carefully soon but it must be said that this is a classic Lego set!

Really cool stuff you got i'm jealous wish i also have it. Anyways i didn't buy anything today just sitting on my chair.
Edited by moderator to remove images; please be more thoughtful when posting in future, you don't need to quote whole posts, and you should try to stay a bit more on topic, and responding to a two year old post is a bit pointless unless you have some more to add than I'm sitting on a chair.

Re: What I bought today
Purchased two Star Wars sets over BrickLink this morning.
The Rogue Shadow for $60, and the 2005 Model ARC-170 Fighter for $50.
All up, with postage and extra fees it cost me $127.
I didn't care much about the price or the fact it came without boxes, I just wanted to get it from an Australian to ensure that I'd get it before my subconscious want for these ships died.
I'll also be trying to get the Republic Frigate next week when I get paid, pray that I can still find one. D:

Not real exciting, but bought my first Kingdoms sets today, Kmart was clearing some lines out. Sets 7949 - Prison Carriage Rescue and 7950 - Knight's Showdown.
They look cool fighting over my monitor!
