Re: What I bought today
Thankfully after being restricted for a few weeks as a result of that car mishap I have finally being able to obtain a few of the following bargains at K-Mart
1 x Recycling Truck # 4206
2 x Seaside House # 7346
I am looking forward to building the Seaside Houses as part of island type style concept that I had thoughts about when I bought the Lighthouse set sometime ago !!!

Great to see you back on deck Free Spirit.
Hopefully it was more the car than you that needed repair.
Looking forward to seeing your 'Sea Change'

Re: What I bought today
LOOK THEY FINALLY ARRIVED!
When I was child I would stare at the lego book and these trains were like the holy grail for me! I knew there was no hope to get them back then since mum simply couldn't afford them. But today they came, and i have them - boxes too!
7740 - ok there is writing on the box but for the price I paid i'm very happy and might be able to get that nikko out.
7735 - this one's quality was extremely pleasing to me! the inners are mostly intact even!
Here's that recent crossing, forgot to post it the other day..
More stuff is on the way (mostly 12v track)

Although modern Lego trains have more realistic colours, better printing, etc, There is still something special about these vintage trains. Maybe because there were so many accessories available?
Anyway, they are awesome. *<

Jigsaw - the Pet Shop and Fire Brigade, that's just not fair. I've never seen either of those sets in stores, let alone at sales.

Re: What I bought today
A bit of a belated post, but last weekend one of my mates at Mugs decided to bring in his old 12V trains to sell. Nearly two complete 7740s two transformers, some manual points, extra 12V light bricks, and a bunch of track.
I asked him what he wanted for them and couldn't resist when he said $500 the lot. After adding some grey slopes for the roof, and building the platform out of spares I've got one complete 7740 with most of the original stickers. Bricklink orders are in to convert the remaining extra carriages to sleeping car and mail van. I'll probably end up with an extra passenger car too, but will have to add reproduction stickers.
I can now convert my poor man's 7740 copy which I built in red to a 7725. And I still have the extra 12V motor to do something with.

Yeah wow nice pick up 7740 is so sweet! Wouldn't mind getting my hands on another transformer also..

What did I buy today? (well, last night actually)
Haunted House, what else...
plus 16 series 5 CMF, couldn't pass them up for 3.49. What's the chances S@H will give me one of each?

Re: What I bought today
Had a few sets piling up in the last couple weeks, kinda been sidetracked by having a cancer operation but since getting out of hospital on sunday was up to taking photo's today. Got a few orders from the Netherlands of 80's train sets as well as some newer models from shopforme.com etc. Bought a whole heap of Friends sets but got tired of taking photos and they were still in the cardboard shipping box buried under stuff.
So here's the sets all spread out, most of these train boxes contain all the trays and for their age are in excellent condition I would say, I'm especially happy with the near perfect condition of 7710 in the 5th pic down -
I have some smaller carriage sets on the way also.
