SnapLock wrote:Today i bought The monster fighters haunted house from my local K-mart store. ,
Bit of a Bizarre story here When i asked at my local K-mart store a few weeks ago about when they would be getting The Lone Ranger sets in , the guy in the toy dept said, This K-mart has no intention to stock any of the Lone Ranger Sets but a new line will be coming instead in the next week. To my surprise it was the Monster Fighters Haunted House ( which isn't quite new), however i am still baffled about why my local K-mart will not stock The Lone Ranger sets while other k-mart stores around 50km away do.So any way i picked up the haunted house.
Ehhh how much was this?? I visited Kmart at Kippa-Ring today and didn't see it there anywhere?????

HUH another petshop!? Youve been spending up big time of late I notice. Where'd you bag this one from then?
Another pet shop i really like that it can be split into 2 buildings so i bought another so i can have 2 town houses next to each other. This i bought form TRU America just had to wait almost 4 weeks to get it it was around $210 but now the Exchange rate has gone bad im not sure how much it would cost.

How much are you picking these up for again? Speaking of extra's I got my 2nd Maersk train delivered today. Still regretting not buying 4 of these when they where cheap..
I got them for $120 each, through a friend (and LEGO retailer) who sold them at the last MUGS meetings. The small retailers were offered these from LEGO Australia at a very good wholesale price, so they must have wanted to clear out their remaining stock.

Excuse my ignorance but which parts list/instructions do you guys use to build these older modulars? Where do you find/download them?
It depends how old the set is, but there are instructions in pdf for free on lego.com in the customer service section, if it's an older set and they don't have listed anymore I use brickinstructions.com and just view it off the computer. But heap of sites have free pdf versions of most sets...
Since I'm interested in late sixties and seventies sets, I find peeron.com very useful. The search function is pretty crap but their collection of old instructions is pretty well unbeatable.
If I need to find a set the search functions on Bricklink and Brickset are better but they are both were less complete, though over time they're getting closer. Once I find the set number I go to peeron for old instructions, or LEGO.com customer service for newer ones like the modular buildings (I think everything from the last decade are all there).
For parts lists Bricklink inventories are the best IMHO, Brickset have some but Bricklink is way more complete.

Not to mention the wanted lists you can create on BL, they're an amazing tool!

Re: What I bought today
Today I bought a Lego World City train not a complete set but working, with plenty of extra track for $50 i got this of a ' Facebook Swap & Trade group for my local area, only draw back is it has the European plug standard.
This is my first train with the electric track. and im very excited. Also kinda surprised that something this good came up on a Facebook group. Time to start trolling Facebook Buy Swap and trade sites.

Nice pickup I got the same one. It really needs a third carriage to be perfection dont you think?
(Btw is the updated forum GUI driving anyone else crazy?)
Re: What I bought today
Today I bought a bit of a mixed box of Lego from a garage sale i paid $150 for it bit of a gamble, until i saw A lego train at the bottom of the box, i asked if they still had the box the train came in and to my surprise they said yes. The train runs very well & i got 2x 3420 for a massive soccer pitch and 5 rare Adidas balls, however the stickers around the soccer fence are peeling or crumbled away. Still very happy for $150.
So here my haul .
This new Gui does make it a bit awkward to reply with quotes as i cant seem to find out how to delete the pic codes

WOW what a great pick up! I paid like $200 for that set alone. I can barely even imagine finding a complete boxed OLD train set in an Aussie garage sale but you've managed to do it so big kudos to you Snappy. Btw care to give us a lid up/open pic of inside the box etc and set detail? My copy is sealed so I'm wondering how things appear inside.. (I don't wanna break the seals)
Re: What I bought today
I can post a pic of it open however there was no plastic tray insert ( i guess cant ask too much from a garage sale) its just the box with the Lego thrown back into it.
I got a lot of extra 9v track as well about 30 corners 20 straights and 3 track switches and a Cross over. I will be posting a vid soon of my Lego Town With Modular s+Haunted house +PF & 9v trains.

Re: What I bought today
Lucky for me, I had a callout in Craigmore.....just a few Km's from Elizabeth City Centre and the price is the normal price - there will be no reduction for the sale....very typical of BigW. No Death Stars sighted though.

I'm really getting confused over this set and this supposed Big W sale. Some are saying it's going on special whereas others are saying it's not. Tiger got his the other day but I see none in Brisbane and a completely different catalog saying nothing about these particular Lego sets.. But then I see signs that the sale starts on the 27th.. Is BigW different depending on what state you live in or something??
