Re: What I bought today
A few weeks ago I bought some parts on BrickLink from the usa.
As I needed them for my BrisBricks display urgently, I investigated Australia Post's parcel lockers. I didn't want to be out when the postman called and then have to take a card down to the PO the next day; or worse, on Monday if you get the card Friday night.
Received an email this morning so went down to the red boxes outside the shopping centre, scanned the bar code they sent, and a door opened with my parcel.
This is just so easy; good bye sweating on the postman to deliver that much needed Lego.
I would thoroughly recommend it to all AFOL's who live in a major city.
Unfortunately, country people miss out at this time.

You know, thats a good idea. I've had many Bricklink orders I had to sign for on deilvery, which I ended up collecting from the Post Office.

Re: What I bought today
After finding out through a friend of mine I bought myself the LEGO CUUSOO Model of the Back to the Future DeLorean Time Machine as a belated 41st birthday pressie.
A pity I cannot work out how to upload a photo of it as it seems there is a new procedure unless I am making an error somewhere which happens from to time

Re: What I bought today
Another new set for me
Back in 1994 I was lucky enough to get set 8858 Rebel Wrecker (http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8858-1) as a Christmas present, from this point on it was my favourite set. For the next 16 years I kept this set assembled however when I hit my teenage years it was in storage. Back in 2010 when I had my big sell off I sold this set.
Since I got back in to LEGO a couple of years ago it was a set I kept an eye out for, on the weekend a friend of mine brought over another set I had purchased off him, while we were chatting he said he had this set and would sell it to me for $75. He built it up for me and I got it off him today. Below are some photos of the set I got today and also a photo from Christmas 1994 when I built my original one.

I wasn't giving the photo on Brickshelf that extra click to bring up the .jpg image.
I have corrected my poor work on another topic.
My apology for my silliness.

Re: What I bought today
Today i bought Lego Lord of the Rings game for My PlayStation Vita, The Vita isnt the best version of this game and i have it on Pc & 360.
However with the Vita i can Play on the go or at work to get my Lego Fix
My all time favorite would have to be Lego Indiana Jones 2 , The level editor is great fun.
Anyone else Enjoy the Lego games?

Re: What I bought today
Oh...Lucky you, looks like such a beautiful train. I must remember to pick this up before its discontinued.
I have another question about trains anyone......How many carriages can you run on the one train like the Horizon for example? I am only having this train in my layout but would like to make it double the size, in length I mean. Thanks

I have 2x horizon express ( to make one long train) and run with just 1 Pf motor and it roars around the track.Ajax wrote:Oh...Lucky you, looks like such a beautiful train. I must remember to pick this up before its discontinued.

I usually run around 8-10 carriages of off one Pf motor & i always have a few light carriages in the 8-10 so the train can still roar around the track.
My Old 9volt Train can only pull about 4- 5 very light carriages before the motor sounds like its struggling.( i usually go with 4 carriages)
