What is that train and bridge in the banner?
It looks awesome ^^ Is it a custom made or from an old set?
Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
The train and the bridge are both MOCs and I imagine they were made for a model train show somewhere.
The bridge looks great.

I really do like the bridge as well. But a lot of things shown built on here are MOCs.

Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
As Brickie said they're both customs; I'm not sure about the train but the bridge was built by user Bodville who is one of the guys from the Canberra train club, who runs Brickexpo. Dave has brought that bridge down to Melbourne for Brickvention a couple of times.
It appears in the banner because Cpt. Zuloo who made the banner is also from Canberra and is a friend of Dave.

Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
Something lucky that occurred a few years back is this guy I met near where I lived at the time offered me his Technic collection which comprised sets 8868 and 8837. At the time I took it but wasn't really interested like now..
Those Technic parts will make an awesome train bridge I reckon ^_^
Just adding to that on my Exo-force Sentai Fortress there are these really large trapezoidal orange pieces that would also make a great bridge frame!
Actually heaps of pieces from that particular fortress would carry over to become useful in a train theme ^^

4559 is squarely in my dark ages so you could be right it may just be the set. I couldn't remember the extra stripes from the set, but the awkward cab unit and shared bogie do ring a bell.

Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
I'm very keen to learn more about this bridge here... Does anyone know of any bigger pics or any pics at all.
I have a grand plan for my lego room and it involves a Sydney Harbour Bridge MOC, and this bridge looks really similar, i'd be interested to some close ups/larger pics.
Any ideas?

Agreed Timmy the bridge looks great, I'd love to know also (hence starting this thread) but seems as though it's some obscure MOC from somewhere in the world... At least you've got the front part to work off I spose

:-O really?!? I need to go and check it out then. I was in the Lego section the other day there and didn't see it. Is it on a higher level?? They've got a bunch of Star Wars bits and pieces near the Lego...

Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
The handcar video clip is hilarious and really made me smile.
Your bridge is an amazing piece of work and plainly quite robust. I'm going to need to build a bridge soon so it was good to see your one so I can 'borrow' a few ideas.
I like your mod of 4559, - makes it much better looking in my opinion.

Re: What is that train and bridge in the banner?
oh awesome! Thanks so much Bodville any more pics you have would be great, as your bridge is really similar to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Did you base the span on it?
I must say it's a great build!
