Re: What I bought today
Just went for a browse to see whether the Target Toy Sale had anything left and couldn't resist the temptation to buy the Level Crossing # 7936 and then put a few dollars towards the Cargo Train for Xmas.
I'm reasonably happy with the savings of about $65.00 and can't wait til christmas when I should have three trains running around my "City Layout".

Re: What I bought today
Free Spirit, nice to see you're getting into the trains. Do you own a station set or is that on a "to MOC" list?
Re: What I bought today
I'm about three to four weeks away from paying off a Lay By which has two sets of the Train Station # 7937.
The yellow taxi cabs where what attracted me into grabbing a couple of them as I have a vision of building a layout that meets the growth of my steadily increasing population of my "City Layout".
My birthday isn't that far away either so the Lay By will be an early present to celebrate the milestone besides what else would a Lego fan want for his birthday !!!

Re: What I bought today
That's definately an awesome tax return, or maybe he hasn't told the kids about the trust fund they used to have!!!BrickTango wrote: I am finding LEGO is a great distraction right now! Though, I think I need to slow down my purchases!!!
First though:
Intrastella- Brickbeards Bounty is on my list to get as well! Great buy!
Hemish- I might need to go LEGO shopping with you! Nice shopping!
Chaucey- That's a good price!
As for me , I went ahead and bought:
10185 Green Grocer
10197 Fire Brigade
10211 Grand Emporium
Can't wait for them to arrive!!!
I will slow down my purchases after this!!!

Re: What I bought today
I'm feeling like a proper Lego fan today because I went into the city (Wellington) and checked out the big ToyWorld and also went to Moore Wilsons. They both have Lego clubs, which I joined up to. I also grabbed a 2010 catalogue because I hadn't seen one yet. Dangerous to see the cute things still coming for later this year - I *Must* have "The Burrow".
I bought some collectible minifigures, the 7241 fire car, and a 2nd brick separator. They almost really should sell those separators in a 2pack.
I have to confess to buying Apple Tree House on Friday ($71.99 NZD at farmers). It was 28% off their retail price. It has been great to build, although the kids kept trying to shove their cars into the garage right in the middle of the build. They love Lego too, but are not really old enough to be careful with it. Lucky I can distract my littlest with Duplo from our local toy library.
So..I think I need to hold off on any more Lego for a while to allow the credit card to recover.

Re: What I bought today
Went for a shop this morning
Starwars sets were marked at $25 but scanned at $17, the tractors were marked at $11 and scanned at $7 so that was the Kmart run
Then went to Target to see what was left, man the store was gutted and I dont think they are going to do much restocking at the moment, they did have the new starwars sets but for $150 for the new slave1 they can keep it
Anyways picked up the Train station for $60, the Racers for $14 and the impulse sets for $4each
All in all a good shop

Re: What I bought today
There is also a leasson to be learnt here
I went back to kmart to buy a belt and decided to recheck the lego section
The Creator firetruck had a $50 tag under it, I grabbed one and took it to the scanner to be sure, beep and it comes up at $35!! They also had a city helicopter transport set with $48 sticker on it scanned and woot $23!!
Moral of the story even though it has a price on it, scan it cause you might pick up a nice surprise!!

Re: What I bought today
Great prices - you've done very well.
Finding good lego bargains is almost as much fun as building the lego!
My purchasing continues unabated too. I bought the beach house set for $49 NZD inc free postage which seems like a good price, but I can't see stock anywhere else local online to compare.

Re: What I bought today
Had a couple of orders show up today, my S@H order was there when i got home, medievel market village and a bunch of impulse sets.
Also my bricknet order was there as well, brickbeards bounty and the city set 7936.
I have to say that was my first time using bricknet and it was a breeze, good communication and fast shipping, I ordered on the Friday I had it today, doesnt get much better than that.

Re: What I bought today
They had the Apple Tree houses on sale in NZ at fishpond today, $59 NZD each. Thought that was a pretty good price! I've already got one though.
I'm waiting on a second hand Harry Potter "dumbledores office" set to arrive at my house.

I'm very curious to know where you were able to secure a full box of the minifigures as I need a few of them to sell at my Market Stall.

Re: What I bought today
Yipeee....I've finally paid off my Lay-by !!!
2 Passenger Trains and 2 Train Stations however just one of each of them will be built until I get some more room to build a bigger layout for more track.
Some of the other things I bought today were as follows, Farmer impulse box # 7566 and the Toy Story - Green Army Men for my M*A*S*H Moc which I am hoping to build sooner or later.

Re: What I bought today
Yay, I have a birthday coming up and I hinted to the wife I would lurve the cargo train set as a pressie
You need to atleast open that other station up and take out the track, thats what we did so we had a few more straight sections
