Hard to tell with time cruisers, they are odd collections of parts, and were very widely disliked when they were current. I doubt there is much of a collectors market for them. I'd open it and use the parts.

I dunno, I thought it was an interesting theme. And $70 for a set that old is a bargain no matter how unpopular the theme was.

In response to Captain Zuloo's message at 4.36pm, I have still got the Cargo Plane 7734, Creator Family Home 6754 and the Green Grocer still in their boxes waiting to be built.

I'm glad I ended up securing the Green Grocer as I am possibly one of the rare few who would have got it here in Tassie.

Yes they did, only a few though. When I flew out of Nolfolk some guy had 7 bags full of Lego, lucky him.

Hi guys, I've just bought the Petrol Tanker for $29 from my local K Mart and noticed that the box is advertising a DVD Movie for Spring 2010.

Did anybody pick up on that or am I the first to notice it.

No, there is a good bit of discussion about this first feature-length film all over the web.

I bought 24 green baseplates from Bricks to the World on Monday, but only recieved them yesterday as my local post office didn't see it fit to even inform me that it had arrived...thanks Aust. Post...
Anyway, rants aside, I finally have them:

I bought two small grey 20 long by 10 wide thick plates from a stall for $10 which I have applied to my MOC Harbor and Storage site that I am currently building.

Also bought myself an opened box of the Family House 6754 on the basis if pieces are missing I will use the set for spare parts which is something rare for me.

I just noticed,

your roads look very interesting Capt. Its a bit hard to see from the photo but is that a plate based road with smooth plates on top or just a big black wall with a bit of tan to make the street lines. ?

It looks effective at any rate.

I picked up the Limo set today from K-Mart. For $32 I couldn't resist! I got it mainly for the limo itself, the Chopper might end up being permanently chartered out to some lucky buyer.

It's actually yellow, but I can see why you were a little confused. It's simply a wall of bricks. You can see that a little better in this photo:

tan/yellow... damn, being coloured blind doesn't help. I always have to stop and concentrate when I look at a powerminers green just so I don't throw it into the yellow bricks bucket.

When you have all 3 modular buildings they look FANTASTIC. I've never seen this in shops though ever. I wasn't really looking but you would think that the LEGO company would just make more of this and try to get it noticed. I think if your everyday shopper saw this on a regular basis, they would love to buy it, even if they weren't into Lego. I suppose I'm biased.

Hey Capt Zuloo, I don't see the Market Street modular building in this display.

Admittedly the Green Grocer and Market Street have similar concepts on the ground floor selling groceries so I can understand why you might have chosen to buy only one of the two.

Anyway, I like what you have done to enchance the street.

Actually, the main reason I don't have Market Street is because it already cost me $520 AUD to get these 3 purchased and shipped to me. I also didn't really like the look of Market Street, I prefer them all to have roughly the same height. Anyhow, more photos will be coming soon and I'll be sure to share them here. They do look great, I'm sure everybody that saw them would agree. However when they saw the price of just one of these sets most people wouldn't buy. They are a collectors set, hence the price. Capt Z did very well with his $. How many people, that were not into Lego models, would shell out $500?

Not a lot, and when you consider that at RRP in Australia they would be more like $700+ it looks even worse. Unfortunately Australia isn't an important market to TLG so these are not widely or easily available.
