Review - 3222 Helicopter and Limousine
Welcome to the next installment of my City reviews, the Helicopter and Limousine. I bought this as it is another one of the latest additions in the City line. I bought it from K-Mart for $32, which kicks butt over S@H. Both were straight-forward builds, although the Helicopter was a little harder with more pieces. As always, the build is very kid-friendly, so the little ones can build it without too many hassles. Overall, this set took about an hour, give or take, to assemble.
Name: Helicopter and Limousine
Theme: City
Year: 2010
Pieces: 267
Minifigs: 4
Price: AUD $49.99 (S@H)
The front of the box:
The back of the box:
The contents. (I love opening Lego boxes!!) Interestingly, one set of instructions for each vehicle and the helicopter gets two bags.
Halfway through the Limo build:
Onto the Helicopter. This was halfway through its build, with one bag down:
The leftovers at the end:
The final product. For the price, its great to have a large amount of minifigs:
"The fate of Georgetown rested on a knife-edge, as the Russian spy Sergi, dragged our heroine, Jacqui, to his helicopter for a short ride to his secret lair........"
Overall, it's a great set. Both vehicles build up nicely and are a breeze to assemble. One issue I had was with the Limo. Due to its length, it flexes a bit when you're putting the figs in. It has been reinforced a little, but it still is a problem. Also, its 4 studs wide, which makes installing the figs a little bit of a pain.
Additionally, some people might find parts of the helicopter a little juniorised, although I had no problem with these pieces. You either have these bits, or the shape is made from much smaller bricks, which adds un-necessarily to the build and would also jack up the price a little more.
These issues aside, I really like how TLG has gone out on a limb and delivered an alternative to Emergency Services. Sure, there are issues with the Limo, but this set makes a great addition to any City layout.
Reccommended!!

Thanks for the review marvinblue,
I'm hoping to get this set soon. I really like your Sergi backstory, mine will probably involve a politician and his 'neice'.

That's certainly true, the part count is fairly limited and the juniorised pieces don't really lend themselves to MOCing.

It seems LEGO is moving more into that direction...but that's another topic...

Perhaps we should make that as a discussion on one of the boards
