Show ideas for my NEW LEGO fan base show on youtube
G'day my name is Adam I am the mind behind Australia's first LEGO base Youtube channel (based in south-east Queensland) Called The Brick 101 Show what reviews LEGO products and soon to have 20min show called the brick loft.
Well in 5 weeks time I will start filming my first episode of the brick loft a show that talks about A.F.O.L., LEGO fans M.O.C., LEGO con/expos/fairs, LEGO Clubs or LUGS and LEGO products and each week i will have theme what will be main topic for each show and will be split in to 4 3-5min segments now this is the hard bit.
I am looking for theme topics for the first 6 episodes dates Nov29 Dec6/13/20 Jan2/10 and I have just hit a wall (real hard LEGO brick wall too lol) and don't know what topics fans would like to see or talk about on this show.
As well any LEGO LUGS/groups/clubs or A.F.O.L. who like to be interviewed talking about any LEGO topic would be bonus as i would be happy to promote your clubs/LUGS/groups and events on my Youtube channel as it gets over 2000 views per day and growing.
I would love to involve this forum as you all sound like friendly group of LEGO fans so any ideas to get me going please post them below.
Thanks for your time so Till next time Keep On Building.

I don't know about the first few episodes of the Brick Loft, but you could possibly do some specials on Brickvention and Brick Expo?
Re: Show ideas for my NEW LEGO fan base show on youtube
Just an idea but you could start at the start?
Theme wise this would be town/city, unless you intend to cover more than just "system". Maybe review some town sets from the late 70's early 80's then show how these sets have evolved over the last 30 years, all the way including MOC's spawned from this line.
Then would come (I think?) Space/police/castle then pirates ect.
A good starting point seeing as this was when most of us AFOL's began discovering these amazing little plastic bricks.
Personally I would avoid covering licenced sets in you first few episodes
because I think most AFOL's root intrests lay in TLC themes.
my 2 cents

Well i am planing on going to brick expo next year but Brickvention is just too soon for me to go to as i have a youtube meetup in 2 weeks time and will not have much money till i can make some more from my videos lol.Captain Zuloo wrote:I don't know about the first few episodes of the Brick Loft, but you could possibly do some specials on Brickvention and Brick Expo?
but i hope to do maybe 3-4 episodes just on brick expo next year and i will talk about them before about them if I'm going or not too.

Running with the BrickExpo line, you could do short interviews of some of the MOC creators. I'm sure some of them would be happy to be on your youtube channel.
Who is your target market? AFOL or just Lego enthusiasts. If its more the general public, you could do a run down on some of the Modular stuff or Star Wars UCS stuff.
If its AFOL, you could discuss colours- use of colours, creative use of elements, Rarity of elements etc..
Interviews of AFOLs might be a good idea, you could do it over skype, record it, and then play it back with images of their mocs. I've heard some of Captain Zuloo's interviews (from EB), but I had to dig up the posts of the Interviewee and see what they had made.

Could you take us through your lego collection and set up? I'd be interested in seeing what other AFOLS have stored in their cupboards. Also I know there's a fair bit history with the different sets and I think the stories behind your lego might be interesting.
Also once up and running it'd be great if you could contact some of the talented MOCers around the place, there are a few that post on Eurobricks.
Good Luck!
