MOC: Modifed 7744 - Police Station
Finally, after much hype by me on this site and multitudes of Bricklink orders later, I present my modified 7744. I love this version of the Police Station. I had the earlier version, 7237, but wasn't entirely happy with it. When this Station came along, I dismantled the one I owned, then bought the newer version and used some ideas and bricks from the earlier Station.
The most obvious upgrade is the dog kennel underneath the cells. I also changed the bottom row of bricks and tiles from white to black. I didn't really want to with the fence, but everything had to look the same and black really is the new white!! The cuff holders went from black to white, to fit in with the rest of the wall. Finally, the whole structure level with the top of the garage was raised by one brick, so my Divisional Van could fit in. Why TLG never did this is beyond me, as this vehicle is advertised amonst the current Police sets.
Enjoy!
The kennel with the rear wall removed. I couldn't have all these attack dogs roaming around now, could I?!
The kennel door can slide open and closed.
Another little addition was the Warden's Chair, it affords personnel a great line of sight down the catwalk. This Officer looks thrilled to be here!!
The overcrowded cells at Georgetown's Police Station. The City may have to build a Courthouse to speed up processing these criminals..
Mabel's doing a great job in the Comms room!
The interview room / D's Office. The photographic scale, magnifying glass and fingerprints came from 7239.
Georgetown's overworked Detective, Detective Jones.
The Chief is having a word to Detective Jones.
The Wanted Poster came from 7239.
As you can see, the Divie Van fits in now without hitting the worklight or bending the antenna. Although, there's no pleaseing some people...!!
Finally, a group shot.
Comments welcome.

I like the modifications you've made to it, ever thought of building an exercise yard for the both the crooks and those dogs of yours.
It has crossed my mind a few times since I bought my Police Station.

Not a bad idea Free Spirit! There's certainly enough free space underneath the cells to do it.

My thoughts of the exercise yard stems from the movie called "The Last Castle" starring Robert Redford and James Gandolfini.
I'm thinking along the lines of the stone wall the criminals built inside the yard !!!

Quite subtle but well thought out mods. I've always liked the dog van from this set. I'm not sure I need another police station though. There is a new one for next year according to EB members so I might just wait and see it, unless I find a really good deal on the current one.
