Looks pretty boring to me. I really disapointed in this installment.

You disgust me pukebrick This was to simple to make the CC and GG both had great detail and were a sight to see, this has just destroyed my view on the modular series. (thinking to my self)Oh well look on the bright side at least it already been done, they can't do much worse. :

new modular fire station
We have all been waiting so eagerly for the next instalment I think it is very easy to get unrealistic with expectations. I think Lego have got the mix just right the design and detail could be described as classic and not overly complicated. I think when you look at all three buildings together they complement each other very well. I believe Lego have tried to improve the playability factor with the theme of fire station, maybe looking to entice a slightly younger buyer. It is an absolute must have for me and it is great to finally have the question mark raised and reveal a new classic. Hey if we want another modular instalment we will have to contribute to making it a big seller.

How come? I dont like the architechture, as it's American and I want to build a European town/train layout, but I
think the design is good for what it is. Also its great as a parts pack to build your own modular buildings, lots
of rare dark red and dark tan, and a heap of less rare but very useful light bley. Lots of tile, a dog. I'd be
happier with more civilian minifigs but thats a small matter.
I'll get at least one, and more if I can find them discounted anywhere.
Peter
ETA: Oh and the most important thing, it has heaps of windows which are always the limiting factor in building houses for me. And a garage door.

Lego Firehouse
Hi guys. I posted a link to these pics from Eurobricks the other day without checking to see if the topic was already here (D'oh!) I really love this set as a) I love fire themes, b) I think it looks fantastic and c) it has interior pieces such as a kitchen, fridge, couch and ping pong table. Lego is finally including furniture which I think for the price it's wrong of them not to. I thought paying $250 for CC for blank floors was a bit rich. Sure, it lets you think out of the box to add your own, but that's more money for more bricks, tiles and plates if you don't have them. In this regard, I thought GG was worth it as well, just couldn't convince the banker!! Getting this set would probably help convince her now! ::

Re: New modular firehouse
The modular buildings are my first choice purchases (for my limited budget). They are very good value when price per brick is considered, especially given the rare colours. I have been on the lookout for them at reduced prices though. I bought my GG and CC from David Jones on special for $200 each.

Nice score. Sadly, I don't have even that sort of money, so no modular firehouse for me... :peterab wrote:The modular buildings are my first choice purchases (for my limited budget). Re: New modular firehouse
Well I'd expect it to be around for a couple of years so you might be able to afford it in the future. I tend to save for the big sets rather than buy the smaller ones, as they're better value.

Re: New modular firehouse
It's up at S@H for $279.99. I told the Mrs and she said "Buy it!" I then told her the price and she didn't say much after that... :O: I thought it would be at least $250, as Green Grocer and Corner Cafe were this amount. I think it is a little steep at $280 and will be on the lookout at DJ's and Myer's for it, hopefully a bit cheaper! I'm still going to get it though!!!

Re: New modular firehouse
Indeed, a review would be supurb! I'm looking foward to purchasing this set myself.
Just having a look at in on the LEGO Shop here.

Re: New modular firehouse
Have you checked out the US S@H price? Its US$149 which is about AU$180. You can buy it today on bricklink for US$190, which still saves you about AU$40.
As you'll have to pay shipping either way I can't see why anybody would buy direct from S@H. Over time the price on bricklink will fall to closer to US RRP, so there is no reason to pay more than about $220 for it.
I'd imagine one of the department stores will get it in Oz as an exclusive, and offer it at a discount (like David Jones did with GG & CC last Xmas) if it's arount the AU$220 mark I'll get it, otherwise I'll get one via bricklink.

Re: New modular firehouse
I guess this is one of those moments when you realise that the build up to a new set and its eventual arrival takes over any ability to to be patient and look for the best price.

I can understand that, but I simply don't have the money not to. If I still had a full time income, I probably wouldn't care so much In the past S@H have offered a lower price for the first few days of the large sets (CC, GG and the Merry Go Round for example), so if the price jumps again you'll still have a bargain, but at this price I doubt it will happen.
Besides this way you may get to do the early review, and you have the set now and I don't

Don't Worry Zuloo I'm sure we can see if we can get one for you with the money we get from the next Blocksford. : But yes it seems we are all doomed due to lack of LEGO funds. I wish LEGO was free, now wouldnt that just be grand.
P.s Is the Good enought Grammar for you yet Zuloo?
P.s.s For some reason i feel the upper statement will get me into some trouble.. Am I correct?
