Cool bike, wish Lego would make some kind of cylinder head for their Technic cylinder blocks though.

Re: What I bought today
Of course! Actually getting a second airport in this lot too, the first airport didn't have a cover tray so I opted for a new version. And im pretty excited about this train cause it's rare and this copy is a good example, even has the original polybags from 1980!Locomotive Annie wrote:Kaila wrote:An old castle set, albeit smallish.

Thank you. I did own it before but sold it a couple of months ago, I am now buying back some of those sets.
Re: What I bought today
i just purchased this Paradisa set this morning because I thought it would fit in really nicely with my Friends sets. I'm going to set it up around the park along with other vendors' stalls.
No box, but all complete with instructions which is how I prefer to buy sets I'm going to build and use rather than stash away in my little collection of boxed sets.

Nice score, I really like the paradisa sets. I don't have any of them I hope to get some in the future. Wouldn't it be Awesome if Lego released a few new collector sets from old themes like Paradisa, Im sure they would be very popular amoungst AFOL collectors. Imagine a Modular motel/resturant on the beach Paradisa style,

Re: What I bought today
I really like the sound of that Ajax. I think with Friends being such a strong line at the moment the return of a few special Paradisa themed sets would be very popular. A modular in the Paradisa style would be definitely something I would want to save my pocket money up for :<3:

Re: What I bought today
Been buying more bricks lately and I've completely used up my Lego budget for the next two weeks or so. I've got 500+ yellow bricks in transit to me as well as a job lot of 350+ 'girls' pastel coloured bricks. Purchased some new pink and dark pink bricks from parted out Friends sets as well as a sheet of the Park Cafe set stickers.
I had a package arrive yesterday from France with the Park Cafe main sign board as well as the pavement sign board from this set. There were all kinds of useful Friends accessories in the package too. like a coffee machine, a liquidiser, electric cake mixer and bowl, plates, knives and forks & etc. I'm going to end up with fat minifigs and minidolls because with the cafe I've already built, the food stalls outside the park and another cafe I've got planned for the township as well all my wee folk are going to be doing is eating!
That could possibly be an example of poor town planning on my part........

Could be worse, all town minifigs eat is pizza. And they usually buy $100 worth at a time

Yes that's true Peter, - I just thought Lego pizza must be seriously expensive or something.. Whatever happened to the old Lego coins because you just don't seem to see them anymore now. I've still got some and that's what I generally pose my minifigs with when they're out shopping.

Thats a good question, those coins haven't been in any sets for a couple of years. I also have a feeling that the chromed gold colour will disappear in near future.
Although that dosen't explain why the coins can't be made in flat gold.

Re: What I bought today
Because I have a collection of Playmobil figures too and the Playmobil coins are very similar to the Lego coins I've always had trouble keeping them separate. Fortunately the bank at Kotanga seems to be able to sort it all out Ok so my shopkeepers accept them just fine
Strange that the coins aren't really available, - I would have thought that they would have suited pirate themed sets really well.

Re: What I bought today
Out of interest i checked out the ebay prices on Lego coins and for the old chrome gold ones their prices are just about approaching some kind of monetary exchange rate. On the other hand Playmobil coins are very cheap to buy and virtually look the same. Go figure

Re: What I bought today
I've got a few Homemaker figure pieces and i've been tempted more than once to look at buying Homemaker sets and parts. Not being fabulously wealthy is a terrible barrier to buying all the Lego sets I want to own.
Good find though, are you planning on looking for anymore Homemaker sets?
