I have finally started - BCC Bus
I am not much of a transport builder, but I had the bus from the 7641 bus sitting in front of me.
I thought I would use it as the base and turn it into a Brisbane City Council bus.
So here is the first thing I have specifically built for the display if others like it:
(If I find my Lego tile numbers I might add some numbers to the front of the bus)

Nice re-creation very close to the original.
Great to see more MOCs here.
but where's the bus stop?

That bus is brilliant.
It will look fantastic on the BLTG display in 4 weeks.
As old Mr Grace did say, " You have done very well."

Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
seeing this is making me have to design a subway bus station like King George Square I was thinking of doing lol.
Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
Now that would be a huge project. So many glass panels to build the internal walls and disgruntled faces needed on the bus station users (as buses that say 1 minute to arrive suddenly change to 20 minutes to arrive)
And it is a really confusing shape (when you go from one side, it seems much deeper (going past the bike area) compared to when you enter from Adelaide street.

Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
The bus is looking great so far. I have never seen one of the long ones (is it real or photoshopped).
I was thinking of building another, but windows were also my issue (oh and those darn curved roof pieces).
I have started on the garbage truck and wheelie bins. They are not quite right, but to get them right the scale goes a bit crazy (they are actually already a little big, I just won't stand a minifig beside them

Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
I made my annual pilgrimage to Brisbane CBD today.
Guess what I saw coming out of the underground bus station near the Victoria bridge:_
So I guess that they are real.
I don't imagine that they use them on suburban runs through narrow streets and roundabouts.
I think that they are most likely used on the high volume routes along the busways where there are not too many tight corners.
Its looking good shieldzee1.
BLTG will soon have a fleet of BCC buses to rival the council.

Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
Makes me almost want to catch a bus to work instead of train, maybe I would get a seat on a bus that big :P
I was wondering when I saw it, how they would turn some streets (reminded me of a top gear challenge).

Re: I have finally started - BCC Bus
They have them here in Brisbane as well.
Guess what; they are called 'banana buses'.
They use them on the major routes where there are not too many tight corners.
