Hi,

I've been buying/ordering/stashing sets away for a purpose, and that is to build a city layout. I had to sit back and think about my best way forward and i think i have it for now.. (although i already have a newer layout in the back of my mind).

I actually almost have enough of the buildings now to complete about 80% of the entire city... it's just room and layout is in the way.

the city will be 9 'sections'... of which are made of 9 standard baseplates. the entire span of the whole city will be 9x9 standard baseplates (81 in total).

for strength and to include enhanced terrain features, im building the sections up to include a false bottom. i have designed and have built a spine  for rigidity.

Im building a mix of boxed sets and custom buildings. the roads will be tiled eventually.

this is 'section 1'.. it will be part of the civic area of the town.

It's the end of another month and here's my progress. I have started basic work on the second section, edited the street layout and added a couple of modulars. busy life stops me from getting through it faster. Hopefully a lot more is on show next month  legotoungesmall
