Hi all! Welcome to my first City review for 2013, the Fire Truck. I bought this as it looks just like a Scania appliance and I want to put the ladder onto my version of CFA's Freightliner Teleboom. This would leave this truck as a Pumper, which is something my Fire Brigade needs. That will be another story!! legoeyeshutlaughing
I bought it from Myer for $29.95. It was a piece of cake to assemble. It takes about 30 minutes to go together and looks pretty good once finished.

Name: Fire Truck
Theme: City
Year: 2013
Pieces: 209
Minifigs: 2
Price: AUD $29.99 (S@H)

The second bag has the new parts in it. The new ladder design and this plate that the ladder connects to.

The rear-side of that plate.

The minifigs, front and back. I like both designs and the printing on the "troop" works well when he's wearing Breathing Apparatus.

The concept of adding the spanner to the set.

The ladder doesn't spin right around, it's stopped by the two white pieces that protrude from the base.

The ladder locks in well with the 2x2 plates on the roof.

Two shots to show that I think it replicates an MFB Scania Teleboom rather well.

Overall, I think this is a pretty cool truck. It has been well designed and has plenty of accessories for the price. It looks good and has plenty of MOCing potential. For me, I reckon the new ladder looks pretty good and I hope you can put multiple parts together. I can't wait to experiment with it when the burnt house comes out. I didn't use the majority of the stickers as I have plenty of the previous logo to keep them consistant. I thought that it was odd that there's a spare hose, there certainly isn't anywhere to use it. Unfortunately, I think getting two figs side-by-side will be rather painful with the windows, let-alone getting doors onto the cab. Its probably possible, but I think it will ruin the lines of the cab. Anyway, I reckon I'll give it a crack and see what happens!!

This set certainly is a great addition to anyone's City layout, particularly if you're into Fire sets. (Like me!!)

I reccommend this set!

Enjoy!

Thanks 'MB' for the review, the only faults with this set....no storage for the feed in hose and a power saw just hanging on the back......zombie hunting are they ? legolaugh
A part from that.....this is one of the best fire trucks Lego has ever produced. legohappy
