Re: New Mannum's streets
Excellent! These street photos look amazing. They remind me a fair bit of Broken Hill, a city very familiar to me. I'm a big fan of your work, and I think I'll be pinching some of your ideas for my Brick Expo 2011 layout.
Any chance of a photo including the menswear shop and ANZ etc?

Re: New Mannum's streets
I'm very impressed with your work and curiously wonder where you got all those decals for each of the MOC creations that you've featured in the photos.

Re: New Mannum's streets
G'day everyone, I need a little hand here....street names....I don't have any, so any suggestions I would ever so grateful.
So, right now we have completed, a service station, bank, post office, hardware store with garden centre, a toy shop, chemist and menswear store on one street facing a river bank.
On the street that intersects with that one, the same menswear store, small grocery store, Target Country department store, then add a pub (yet to be built). Oppersite side of that street is the motorcycle dealer, a new tyre dealer (yet to be built), possible other buildings are a fish'n'chip shop, bakery, butchers shop, real estate office, paint store, auto parts store and stock agents office.
Whew, there may never be any end to this town.....any suggestions and remarks welcome as always and as usual.....keep on bricking !

Re: New Mannum's streets
What you need to do is go North on Hinge-rod highway, that turns into Studd street, first right at Clutch Ave, then through Element esplinade until you hit Lug park......you can't miss it

Re: New Mannum's streets
In Canberra we have street names of each suburb from a specific theme. Like explorers for one suburb, australian rivers for the other etc. Don't know if this will help but picking a theme (maybe lego related like suggested above) and sticking with it might be good.

Re: New Mannum's streets
It is looking good however I would be interested to see whether the main street could be built as a two lane highway which included car parking bays with some meters of course and a loading zone for trucks.
Just food for thought !!!

Re: New Mannum's streets
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, your idea is too new to me, I too have thought of that, but the closest I might do is using a couple of plates from the police/station as a divided main street.
Thanks again 'Free Spirit' and keep on bricking !

Re: New Mannum's streets
As promised......
Yes, it's going to be the size of this rug, as you can see more tiling and a few road plates are needed.
Also there is the start to a park......mmm, a park who are making parks right now.....let me think !
Now for some other shots.....
Don't forget the layout isn't finished yet....yes, it will be bigger and this is just the town.....there are the surrounds to do yet !
Keep on bricking everyone !
