I have been able to organize a scholarship for a student to work on a taxonomy for minifigures. The student would spend the summer (November-February) in New Zealand to work on this software. The University of Canterbury allocated 5000 NZD for this project:

I hope that a younger AFOL, who is still studying, might be interested.
