Greetings everyone.

I'm an AFOL hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. I resumed my hobby around 2007, by starting out with CADing LEGO MOCs in LDraw, and my primary interest is in modern / near-future military.

My current involvement in the FOL community consist of the following:

- I am a long-serving moderator on the BrickArms Forums, the discussion board for the popular minifig-compatible firearm accessory vendor. Yes, I have prototypes, and no, I am not interested in selling or trading ;P

- I helped create and currently administer the Alpha Company Forums, a LEGO Military fan group aimed at developing minifigs, models, tutorials, resources and other media revolving around the fictional (and titular) Lego States Army, 2nd Infantry Division, "A" Company.

Rest assured that I'll keep the promoting to a minimum, as my primary focus here is to meet new AFOLs and see what folks in the Australasia area are up to, although I wouldn't mind if I made new friends who are interested in helping out on AC as well legohappy

Well come aboard GreenLead, as you may notice I mainly post in the pirate/history sub forum but may do some military MOC's at some point.
I do like to try my hand at all themes when I feel I have the parts to pull it off.
Again welcome and enjoy.

Cheers, Taz. Conversely, I'd be keen to try my hand at CADing up a colonial era sailing ship as well.

I see from your Flickr 'stream some very impressive work! Regarding parts availability, if you don't have the parts you want to experiment with for other themes, you can always CAD your ideas up in LDraw.

Welcome aboard GreenLead! Good to have another forum regular around.
Are you aware of Australia's two LEGO events, Brick Expo and ?Brickvention? Brick Expo is coming up this August, and it would be a great opportunity to come and check out some military MOCs that at least two or three exhibitors are bringing.
Anyway, if you need a hand on the boards, give me a yell, welcome aboard!

Yes, I am aware of both events. Unfortunately, I'll be missing those due to a temp work placement overseas from June to August.

My other concern is that most of the Alpha Company boys are Yanks, and they're focusing their efforts on the Stateside cons. I have one Kiwi working with me, and an Aussie who has unfortunately gone AWOL. As such, bringing around AC stuff is going to be a herculean challenge.

Anyways, I'll be posting my work regularly on the ANZFOL forums to make up for it - I've got one posted so far, and I look forward to doing more legohappy

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi GreenLead,

Welcome along to ANZFOL. We had a few military MOCers at Brickvention last year, and one of them is now pretty active on the MUGs list (Melbourne Lego Users Group).
