Hope you all like my Castle gatehouse. I packed it with a heap of details and made the towers modular. Even threw in a Murder Hole or two to drop oil on invaders.

I'm not sure the name of the building in the middle but the holes in the floor were called Murder Holes, the boiling oil is tipped down on raiders attacking the castle gates, however rocks and other things were used more often as oil was a precious commodity in [url="http://www.castles-of-britain.com/castleso.htm"]Medieval times[/url].

I love all the little details too such as on the buildings that make them look diffrent and more detailed/real

or the brick-built curved arch above some doors looks great. the whole thing is jam-packed. :O: legosunglasses

This is a very nice Moc.

I like the medievel house inside the walls. Especially the sloped corners of the lower walls. I've never seen that technique before.

BTW the murder holes were often combined with a double gate system. The attackers would run the rear set of gates, a forward portcullis would be dropped down behind them, trapping them, while they were shot at by archers from the murder holes.

Oh and is this the first Moc posted to ANZFOL? Congrats. I was hoping to post my current WIP.

Thanks for the nice words guys! I had heard about the Portcullis trap from someone else as well, I will have to consider that for another castle in future, excellent idea.

That MOC is absolutely splendid! It looks fantastic. I love all the details that you've put into this, like all the work in the archways and the fencing in the lower windows of the house. How long did this take to put together? Well done! legohappy

Wonderful work ISC! You did a great job with this MOC, and I think things such as the rounded wall technique are fantastic. The way you made a very repetitive technique look random is wonderful. Great job man! legowink

I love how you did the rocks & all the plants, Cant wait to see more pics of the building, it looks great even from that shot!
