Howdy, people!
Hello to everyone on this forum. i've been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to join.
I'm from Brisbane and I have been a fan of Lego since 1997. I stopped collecting around 2002, and later bought more sets in 2006 & 2007, but at the time I had very little money.
Well, 5 years later I have rediscovered how awesome Lego is!

Re: Howdy, people!
Hello Red_Five
Welcome to ANZFOL.
Like millions of others, we 'love' those little plastic bricks. It is amazing the creations that can be made by a few basic bricks.
You are not alone on the northside of Brisbane as there are quite a few AFOLs out there; many of whom are members of BLTG.
What are your interests in LEGO; what themes interest you?

Hey mate,
My favorite theme is Trains followed closely by Town/City *EDIT* & Star Wars (which inspired my username).
I also adore (but don't own) a lot of the themes from the early to mid 90's, eg, Pirates, Western, Ice Planet 2002, Spyus & Aquazone.

Re: Howdy, people!
Welcome! Some of the Lego sets since the turn of the century have been great. The bank, transport station and petrol station (which is on order right now, happy ^_^) come to mind - a lot more than just the usual 'Fire Station' and 'Police Station' we see out every 3 years.

Re: Howdy, people!
Welcome along Red_Five,
I hope you enjoy your time here.
I'd highly recommend getting involved with BLTG. It's a lot of fun sharing the hobby with other like minded people, and it's pretty hard to have as much fun alone as you can with a large club layout.

Re: Howdy, people!
Hi Red_Five, I am another Brisbane Northsider (and member of BLTG).
I was also the same, rediscovered Lego, stopped and re-rediscovered it again. I don't really have a favourite theme,... ok I lie... it is Friends now (I have a soft spot for great colours and cute things).
Do you build MOCs or are you more into sets?

Re: Howdy, people!
Hey Anita.
I like building the sets, but all my sets eventually get demolished for MOCs. As a kid the standard sets were fun, but as I grew up, I got really bored of buildings with 3 walls and no access between levels!
Anyway, i've just built my first MOC in over 4 years - i'll have some pictures very soon.
