Friends set 3065
I went to Bricks n Fun this morning and purchased Friends set 3065, Olivia's tree house.
Gary asked me to do a review of the set.
I took it home to build when the light bulb came on; get the granddaughters to build it and see the reaction.
After school, 2 of the girls were off elsewhere so the eldest came to my house full of excitement.
The polybags were ripped open and away she went.
It was fascinating to hear the squeals of delight when she built the milk carton, found the cat and put the sparrow in its house.
Cries of 'cool', 'wow' and 'look at this' echoed around the room.
Later on, the other 2 girls arrived and made similar gushing noises, especially about the colours.
I would say that this set gained 100% approval rating from the girls.
They were straight into changing Olivia's hair for that off a minifig.
Gary, I can't do a full review of the set as I don't have it any more. It disappeared into their car when they left so that they could play with it at their house.
I think that it would be fair to say that 3 girls thought that it was the coolest LEGO ever.
When I come down to buy another Friends set, Gary, remind me to hide it so that I can play / build with it. *<

Re: Friends set 3065
I just bought the Friends adventure camper, (wanted the tree house but K.Mart didn't have it) I only realised last night that if i discard the people figures and change a few of the 'girly' colours it will make a great addition to my city. Bonus is it has 2 bikes and a cool light blue surfboard. I probably wont put on to many of the butterfly/loveheart stickers on but can use them in other MOC's. I will start a thread with all my modified sets and MOC's soon.

Re: Friends set 3065
I've got heaps of Friends sets and they are pretty good apart from the non compatible minifigs, I like Olivia's house the best and the pricepoint is quite good too I think. Need to build a 12v trainline out the back though
Re: Friends set 3065
jeez i may have to buy a couple of them so they can be 'modularised'

The sets have new and different flowers which is good, I thought of turning the Beauty Shop into a florist.

I recently purchased 3933 Olivia's Workshop and sometimes when I take WIP photos of my trains I'll have Olivia there with a spanner or her electric drill in her hands. I really like the Friends sets and I want to get Olivia's Treehouse next.

Yeah large friends complex !!
How's about a large freinds modular doll house? This could come as a single set or a serious of sections?
Now that would be cool.

Re: Friends set 3065
I went looking for Friends sets at the nearest branch of the Warehouse to where I live and was sadly disappointed. They had heaps of 3933 Olivia's Workshop, but not much else except one or two of the big sets including Olivia's House. Since I already have two of Olivia's Workshop I thought it might be a wee bit obsessive to buy another one. i want Olivia's Treehouse, but it's sold out everywhere.
I wouldn't mind getting the big Olivia's House set, but having busted my budget for the next few months with my latest Bricklink orders I couldn't afford it.
