Custom Modular Buildings
I have just bought a set of instructions to build the City Hall which you can find on EBay however to my disappointment I am faced with seeking assistance from a more computer technical person who has the knowledge of configuring the downloaded zipped rich text document files to an easier file for me
Whilst it is annoying that I am bit less of a computer geek than experts I am still looking forward to building it against the odds of finding some of the pieces which is half the fun !!!

Hey Free Spirit,
The rich text document should open up in an internet browser, what sort of file were you after?

Re: Custom Modular Buildings
Captain Zuloo, it appears my first hurdle of building it has been overcome as I finally worked out how to open the PDF Files which come with it.
I am now able to see what I require instead of trying to work out the jargon of words relating to what pieces I need to build which easily throws me completely
The old saying of a picture tells a thousand words applies in my case

Custom modular
I wasn't sure where to put this but the thread title is apt. This was my attempt to build the market street modular, I've used different colors in obvious parts but overall i think it turned out ok for a modest budget - i did have a few mishaps on bricklink with a seller who sent the wrong parts (still waiting on some things, especially the green lettuce hair piece) and another who took 3 months to get my order to me but alls' well that ends well. I hope to do the green grocer next.

Were these instructions purchased from Miran0620 by any chance?...I purchased a set of instructions from this guy late last year...however I will never do it again....why?
Have a look at this post in the eurobricks forum:
http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64394&hl=Miran0620&st=0
It seems he is ripping off other people's designs, reverse engineering them and then selling the instructions. I admire his skill in doing all this but in essence he is copying other people's work.
I might put a topic up about this guy to let others know.
Regards

Re: Custom Modular Buildings
I did buy one from him and I guess I am also probably not going to build it having seen the posts on eurobricks.
Also having seen the next release of the Modular buildings I don't really see the point of it now
I'm hoping my last few purchases on Ebay from overseas prove worthwhile otherwise I am sticking to Australian retailers only !!!

I have found an ozzie guy/group who put together instructions which also look great and from what I can tell they create their own designs as well.
I have not bought any myself (yet)...but have them on my watch list and keep getting close to putting in a bid....so I am sure I will try one out soon.
This is the link to one of their designs if you would like to check them out:

As I am only recently returned from the dark ages and have so much to learn I have been interested in this kind of thing as a way of learning new techniques I can apply to other things.
