'Great South East'
This Sunday [3 July] afternoon at 5:30, BLTG and Brick n Fun will be featured in an episode of Channel 7's 'Great South East' which is broadcast from Brisbane.
We will receive our 10 seconds of fame as long as you don't blink and miss it.
The show will highlight adults using children's toys and feature the BLTG Lego display as well as a group of women who make items for dolls' houses + 3 other items.
We are all nervous as we await this broadcast as we all regret making those off the cuff remarks to the interviewer.
I just hope they don't show me burping and scratching in front of the ferris wheel.
Hopefully, one of BLTG's more technical members will be able to tape / record / DVD / whatever the show and bung it up on UTube for us all to have a laugh.
At my age, I'm just hoping that I remember how to turn on the TV; if I remember that it is Sunday.

Re: 'Great South East'
I was really impressed they managed to get the vital plugs for Bricks n Fun and the train group nicely presented. MUGs and Brickvention have both had press where they failed to give correct links, or worse gave incorrect info.

@peterab
We were also very impressed with the result.
We have spotted a few small details where the pictures don't match the commentary; but these are minor details.
I believe the reason for the good result was preparation and discussion with the TV people weeks before the event.
'The Great South East' is a weekly show that is viewed in South East Queensland and northern NSW. It has been running for many, many years.
It features tourist activities, places and parks to take the kids, and places for adults to relax.
It is an extremely popular programme; especially with older people, i.e. grandparents. Bricks n Fun have had a record number of people this week; including many grandparents with the grandkids.
When the TV show wrote back to us with a slot on their show, we sent them lots of details about our group. After a few telephone calls, we had ironed out the meaning of a few terms; i.e AFOL, MOC, etc
The crew took four hours to take the video that finally appeared in less than 4 minutes of air time.
I am very glad that they took the time to edit out all of the bloopers.
The video was shot more than 6 weeks ago so there was time for them to get it right and check web sites for details.
As I said, we are very pleased with the result.
From the reaction so far, I think the organizers of the Gold Coast miniature train show in a few weeks time will also be pleasantly surprised. They are already featuring our Lego display in their advertising.
They are a very switched on bunch of people who realize what is the major attraction for children; certainly not a N scale train that crawls around a small oval of desert with one signal and a dead tree. Whilst this might appeal to the purest, it leaves kids cold.
The Gold Coast people realize this and will be handing out at schools free passes to the train show for kids [ accompanied by a fee paying adult ].
Of course, most parents will buy the kids a drink and a snack whilst there and maybe something from the trade displays; so it is a win win situation for the organizers.
They are also a wonderful group of people who come forward in numbers to assist exhibitors to set up their display on the Friday.
They also bring around a food trolley on Friday night to kill the hunger pangs as you are adding details to the display.
The Ashmore PYC is a reasonably small venue but the organizers are big in heart.
It should be a great show.
