Oatlands Festival
In a bid to increase awareness of Tasmania's LEGO enthusiasm a display and stall will be present at the Oatlands Festival this coming Sunday.
According to organisers an expected 8000 strong crowd will flock the Main Street of this small country town called Oatlands which has prompted this decision.
It starts at 10am with many various activities being held along the street so I put it to my fellow LEGO enthusiasts to take time out and come along to see what all the fuss is about.
Cheers....Free Spirit

Re: Oatlands Festival
The event itself was well patronised however because of being placed outside and gale force winds no display was undertaken for safety reasons.
As a result I did run a stall there which didn't grab the attention of the patrons so as a result I can say it was a failed venture as such.
The festival committee have formally invited me back again next year on the provision that I obtain full usage of there hall so at this stage I am awaiting a letter of confirmation for this to be correct.
That's all I have to report at this stage.

I guess this years event must be a bit of a disappointment, but it does sound like next year could be quite good. Sometimes you have to take a gamble the first time to work out the teething problems. Good luck for next time.

Hi Free Spirit
The Oatlands Festival committee has changed hands. I found this forum post by doing a search for Oatlands Festival, and was really pleased to find your posting. The information about you attending last year, was lost in handover somewhere I would say, but the current committee would like to honour last years invitation and I will seek an inside location for you to set up and exhibition if you are interested in attending the festival this year.
The date for this years event is Sunday 16th October, and our email address is (oatlandsfestival at mile.org.au) (new member so cannot post link) if you would like to drop me a line so we can communicate.
Cheers

Re: Oatlands Festival
It is a good see another Tasmanian browsing on this forum because the more displays we pick up the bigger the chances we have of gaining a few more members on this forum
