LEGO Universe discussion?

I just found the prices for the new LEGO Universe. Its so expensive!

When you buy the game, a one-month subscription is included. After that, a paid subscription is required to continue playing LEGO Universe.

You will be able to renew your LEGO Universe subscription online or over the phone. 1-, 6- and 12-month subscription options are available; you can see the prices for these subscriptions below.

That's absolutely insane! Still far better than World of Warcraft *shudder*. I don't think I'll be getting into LEGO Universe any time soon...

I've been beta testing Lego Universe, but not as much as I thought I would... I can see kids getting into it though.

And still we wait for an Australian relaese date.

I got an email yesterday telling me all about how cool Crux prime is going to be legosweat2 All I want is to be able to play the game. I spent many hours as a beta tester and reported many bugs and graphic issues and really enjoyed the game play style.

One can only hope that the Australian release is not to much further away.

Question: Santa brought Lego Universe for Christmas. Used one month subscription already now Lego.com is telling me I can't resubscribe because it's not available in Australia yet. Anyone know of a way around this? Have 9 y/o who is mightlily cheesed off and lego mad! Thanks JLP

Hi again - it's not the price I'm worried about - it is the fact that when we go to "buy membership" we get a message basically saying sorry the game is not available in Australia. I've even tried to change our profile to another country (but obviously our IP address is giving us away). Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

There is no plan to create a server for Australia at this point.... just like Pharaohs Quest we'll miss out completely.

TLG has just released LEGO Universe: Free To Play - a free version for all! Of course, there are some restrictions, but hey, it's better then $140 /yr! legosunglasses

Click the link that studbrickmaster posted above... it's not that hard :P

Be aware that the free version only covers the first couple of areas, it is NOT the full game. Certainly a few hours of gameplay in there though legohappy
