Re: What I bought today
Olivia's Mum and Dad, Anna and Peter, arrived in Kotanga this morning after traveling all the way from France by Airmail packet post (Expres Prioritaire). Olivia was overjoyed to see her Mum and Dad again, - but do they know about Olivia's job in the railway workshops? .... dun dun dun....

Re: What I bought today
The postman brought me more track this morning. I was just buying the grey era track parts, but there is so much cheap blue era rail around at the moment I'd be dumb not to buy it when my Kotanga layout is going to need a lot of track before it's complete.

I got some old castle lego as well to finish off my Hogwarts castle, , I had the flying keys set when it first came out, I was rather a low level lego collector, even though, I lok at me collection now, and its about $30 000 , so, i'd say i'm low scale, while others have $100 000 complete sets, well, i was rather selective, I only bought $10 sets each week, . and with Hogwarts my ideal project to finish in 2018, I want to get the pink castle pieces , in the $10 boxes , if every month I get a extra castle door, i'll have the 20 Hogwarts classrooms, by 2018, and have finally done my version of the Hogwarts castle with every classroom now, . 100 castle sets later, back door , front door, archways,, divide by 4, still is 25 classrooms though , or of each classroom, wall adds on the the next, its 14 walls per level, , 3 classrooms wide 7 story building, that's. the 21, one side, 21 the other. hey perfect, I got 42 class rooms,
=
I think the book and schematics of hogwarts makes it, 7 years of, 7 periods in a week of class rooms, so about 50 classrooms sounds about right, , tee hee
I can't wait till 2018, and I can display my Hogwarts castle ,. yeah,

You are plainly having too much fun in that video clip
Sounds like your version of Hogwarts Castle will be a sight to see once it's complete. Don't forget we want to see pictures in 2018

Re: What I bought today
I guess I should update what I have bought in the past few weeks
Firstly, I have been sourcing bricks for my current projects which are coming along at a gentle pace as I have a far bit of buying to do.
You can see how I am progressing with my Grand Scale Shopping Centre which is barely anything than a starting point right now as this massive project will be a very satisfying accomplishment upon its completion.
Secondly, I was fortunate to score a secondhard Passenger Train # 7745 for just $60.00 which I aim to try out before posting some photos of it.
Thirdly and finally I managed like many others to score a Tipper Truck # 60017 for $23.00 at K-Mart

Wow a #7745 set for just $60.00! Good score!
Nice beginning there with your shopping centre, I'll be looking forward to seeing more pictures as you progress with it. Brick bricks are something I haven't tried out yet, but they certainly give a pleasing texture and appearance to a building MOC.
I got myself one of these and for a very reasonable price too.

Re: What I bought today
box 10656 , yes,. I am buying one castle box each week now, its amazing, $10 , and pink lego, I actually want to make the Hogwarts girls dormatery look like a girls room with the pink lego ,
-
the lego site says "Build a fairy tale world with My First LEGO® Princess featuring a horse, carriage, grooming station and pretty pink castle! ../
=
pink castle, lol, I want to get about 10 of them, and 10 of the LEGO 5929 Castle Building Set ** and another one, 6193 Lego castle ( 2009 ) with no doors , its just extra castle blocks. and a draw bridge . both with 140 lego blocks, it gets to the 20 blocks height that I build a classroom . especially the dark arts classroom, that is 2 stories high.
=
LEGO 6918 Blacksmith Attack has some good castle lego in it too. I saw some sites do a similar large build like mine ,but they always hve more detail . . http://blog.buzzbuzzhome.com/2013/03/woman-recreates-hogwarts-400000-lego-pieces.html/harry-potter-lego-hogwarts-castle1

Re: What I bought today
Was buying Classic Space off Ebay today and literally missed #6901 space lab by a few seconds >_< It was listed only an hour back but when I refreshed the listing to buy it was suddenly sold! Way cheaper than on BL too. I picked up the original #442 in good boxed condition for just $24 from the same seller!
Seriously guys I've been getting rather mythed with BL's pickings lately and in contrast Ebay seems to be great IF your timing is right

Re: What I bought today
Yes I've been having good luck with ebay too just lately. just the same as BL there are traders wanting a fortune for old tat, but they are easy enough to spot and avoid.
Good score with the little Space Shuttle set, but missing out on the Space Lab set would definitely make you weep. Those old Space sets are really cool and remind me of the wide-eyed sense of wonder I had as a child when the very first space missions took place.

I also have my monster fighters in it too, if you have facebook,

I just am in the middle of it, half way throught the 2018 ogwarts build, with these new pink lego pieces I can build that evil teachers staff room as well, ha ha, pink lego Hogwarts castles ,. who would have thought we'd be building them till 2018

Re: What I bought today
Olivia has been spending my money again; - she has a secret project and won't say what it is.
Edit: Apparently it's possible to buy yellow pistons, but Olivia said that was taking the 'Friends' theme just a bit too far.
I purchased 100 minifig heads from a ebay trader as i like to individualise the wee folk who inhabit my layout as much as possible. And no I haven't given all my layout people names yet, - just some of them; - so you can lay off trying to phone the men in white coats without me noticing because there must be at least a full three dozen John and Jane Brickmans on my layout board whose true names are known only to themselves.

It is not very often that I happy about buying fuel but when you score a free LEGO polybag like this one I confess I am much more happier

How do you get this lego?
So after investigating further I found it to be all about timing and luck.
To sum it up-
*It's a 1 day promo (although if they have stock left they will most likely give if you ask)
*The promo day is random/not very well organized.. 3 days back Tassie had it, yesterday QLD had it.
*Only very limited servos are participating! A total of only 3 Shells in Qld did it (Bowen Hills, Nudgee & Surfers Paradise)
*You must buy fuel and you'll get it for free.
Basically I'm on good terms with the Bowen Hills Shell and he said he would have given me free without fuel or anything. Problem is they ran out of stock >< In Qld only Nudgee has stock leftover and the staff there are very strict.
As for the other states.. well it's up to you to phone/ask what's going on.
Re: What I bought today
I got Emma's Ice Cream stand today. I'll be setting her stand up beside the park gates where Andrea is having her concert.
So with these petrol station Lego promos what are you all doing? - Driving about madly all day to use up your petrol so you can go in and buy more to get another promo set, - or are you going the more direct route and siphoning out your petrol tank into containers so you can go back for another refill and more promo sets?

Like one of these? Wow that's a pretty darn cool set
Yes that is it. I am doing some mods to it at the moment
Re: What I bought today
Finally tracked this one down and am happy with the condition -
Lost an auction this week for #497, which was quite annoying.

Re: What I bought today
Wow, great score with the port set Kaila, the box looks to be in great condition too.
Much sympathy over losing the auction for #497 those old Space sets are really cool. Hopefully another one will come your way at the right price.
