Re: What I bought today
BigW are selling out the Fire Helicopter (7206) and OffRoad Firetruck & boat (7213) for $29.00 each, that's under half price, so picked them both up. My daughter also insisted I buy the Star Wars Clone Trooper Battle Pack so she would have some stormtroopers to play with. For once this was actually her choice and not mine.

Which Big W store did you find the offroad truck?...I have tried a few already and they all sold out.

Re: What I bought today
I found all three of the $29 fire sets at both the Taigum store and the Brisbane City store (end of last week though).
We couldn't find them at the Chermside store at all.
I am thinking of using the boat hull to build a version of one of the tankers my Dad worked on (to give him).

Thanks for the info...City Store sold out, so is Upper Mount Gravatt. I did manage to get the fire boat...now that I have the harbour, I thought it would be good to add a few boats to the mix. I am also looking forward to spending some money with Brick'n'fun on Saturday noght as part of the big unveil event with BLTG.

Re: What I bought today
Birickton, BigW Capalaba still had a few of the helicopter and offroad sets left when I was there this morning.
Re: What I bought today
Xyver, Thanks for that. Its a bit out of my way..will have to see when I can get out that direction. I picked up the Boat yesterday...have been thinking about the offroad set, and already have the helicopter. Appreciate the info though. I hope to see you on Saturday.

Re: What I bought today
I got the last Fire Boat and Helicopter on the shelf at Big W Epping Vic yesterday. I was surprised to find them there at all, since we rarely see clearance stock here in Melbourne. Most stuff sells out earlier.
I had been considering a helicopter for some time (either the fire one, or maybe bit from the 6 wide plane, or police chopper) to moc up an air rescue/ambulance chopper. I just hadn't got around to accepting the price. At $29 dollars even the boat was too good to refuse.

Re: What I bought today
That fire boat is actually pretty cool, and really does float. The only problem is the ladder on the back tends to make it unstable, so to use it in the bath (by my young daughter, not by myself) its best to take it off.

OK Xyver, we believe you; I think.
Actually, adding the motor from the fireboat of 10 years ago makes it move around the bath. Great stuff.

Re: What I bought today
Brickie, for once, the boat was my daughters idea, she got that and the fire station for Christmas, she'd wanted them for 6 months.
Now my town is overrun by firemen and police officers, followed closely by the criminals. For some reason, my daughter (she is only 5) prefers to arrest the policemen rather than the criminals, not sure why.

Xyver,
Your daughter will have to join the CJC.
BTW, there is now a great article and photos about the BLTG challenge on the BLTG website.
We look forward to seeing you at future events.

Re: What I bought today
I picked up a complete set of S5 minifigs today from Myer. Gotta love the random "1 day only 20% off Toys" sale!

She's probably read the Fitzgerald report.

Re: What I bought today
After some time I have finally been able to secure a set of 7994 City Harbour from 2007. I will be keeping an anxious eye on the post until it finally arrives.
I also had some luck on ebay and got a great price on the coast guard ship which will tie up next to the also newly acquired fire boat at the new city harbour which is coming together.
Every day is a good day when you get lego.

Re: What I bought today
I bought the Alien Conquest tripod walker thing at the Myer sale, since I missed it at Kmart. I'm pretty sure I have a minifig addiction, since I got it mostly for the figs. I'd still like the mothership too but have to work out a way to pay for it.
^ I really like the 2007 harbour, though it is now too expensive for me.

Re: What I bought today
I agree with the minifig addiction. My daughter wants the Darth Vader minifig (she's 5 and a bigger Star Wars nut then I am) and the only way to get it, other than on a keyring, is to buy the Millenium Falcon. Now I am all for having the Millenium Falcon on display, but $250 is a bit much just to get her a Darth Vader.
Re: What I bought today
Why not just get the minifigure by itself on Ebay or Bricklink?

Re: What I bought today
Hello All
Today my Harbour set from 2007 (set#7994) arrived from Germany in good order and in only two weeks which is pretty good. Just waiting on a couple of other goodies.
I also got some minifig display cases from BigW as well as one the boxes of 450 bricks which will provide essential building material for other things
