Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
Hi All,
As i am quite new to all of this... and only just found out about the event today i am wondering if there is a similar event for sydney lego fans or is this the closest lego action we are going to get this year?
Cheers HRTTIM

Well it's only a few hours down the highway. There are a number of Sydney siders bringing MOCs.
So how did you hear about it?

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
HRTTIM,
SydLUG is bringing down a fair amount of stuff, make sure to say hi. We are probably going to have some stuff at Newcastle in a few weeks too and AMRA later in the year, but definitely make an effort to get to Brickexpo.
Cheers

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
YAY
I remember fondly the lego displays they use to have in Myer Stores, that was a day out with my dad that I looked forward to every year, seeing cool sets and of course the present at the end
The new displays and MOCs that people do these days are just something else all together, will have to try make it down there one yr I think

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
I've put a few photos up on Flickr under my account, plus in the BrickExpo 2010 group. I only took photos of SydLUG stuff at the end of the show when it was actually possible to get some clear shots. There were SO MANY PEOPLE!!
My thanks go to the organisers for getting it all together and letting us bring stuff down from Sydney. We're already talking about 2011
I have video of the whole show and it will go on youtube under the SydLUG account after it is edited (may be a few days...)

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
Hi guys!! I was there and bumped into Intrastella and Cat'n Zuloo (nice to meet you two!). I'll have some pics up in a couple of days. I was in the line for forty minutes, just a small wait!! Fantastic show, I'll try and get along to some more.

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
Awesome stuff
I love that you dont have the displays behind barricades and that the kids can get right up close, perfect way to inspire the next gen of little lego builders

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
Fantastic photos. I wish mine had come out that clear.
With the high volume of children in front of the display the TGV train train on quite a few occasions would sneak out assisted by little hands

Also the perfect way to stress me out. There is a path of neurons in my brain that is now permanently wired as "Please don't touch". Luckily no one had to meet my "Finger Scissors".

Re: Canberra Brick Expo 2010
I uploaded the local news coverage in case you missed it.
I also put some photo's in the BrickExpo Flicker Group
Thanks to all the exhibitors who made this such a great day.
It's a pity it didn't get quiet enough to meet and greet more. Next year we will have to make it 2 days.
