2010 is set to be a big year for Canberran LEGO fans, the first ever Brick Expo is launching!

Featuring rare and hard to find LEGO sets, custom built fan-created models, a great opportunity to purchase discontinued and rare LEGO sets from licenced resellers onsite and a great day out, Brick Expo 2010 is shaping up to be great fun for everyone involved.

So, who's going? I know I am, I've got leave worked out, even the family's coming along for a look. Hope to see at least some of you there!

You should see myself, Bodville and aussiechef67 and possibly Swashbuckler Petrie. I believe caberetboy also plans to attend. Shaping up to be a great event! :D

The rumour I heard was some celebrities may be in attendance.
Like Michael Schumacher, Rambo and the cast from CYCLIC.

The closest any Lego fan will get to him would be for someone to MOC one of his Formula 1 Championship winning Ferrari's.

The current F1 Mercedes isn't worth MOCing having failed to win a single race as yet in 2010.

Eh, you never know, there may be an awesome LEGO racing display...

I should be there. Looking forward to meeting you guys in "lt flesh". Plus a good contingent of us Sydlugs and a Sydlug layout to add to the Lego madness.

I wish I were going, I wanted to but its a week before an AMRA show the M>LTC had already commited to, so too close to do both :-(

I'll make sure to make it next year though.

I just want to praise the committee for the promotional leaflet I just received for this upcoming Expo.

Its an excellent way to promote your event as it's very informative on what is happening at the event.

You can be assured that BTTW are fully supporting your event as that is how I received my leaflet.

Ah, good to hear that the flyers are getting around! BTTW is an official 2010 Brick Expo trader and they'll have a stall at the expo.

So anyone else thinking of coming down for the expo? It's looking like a fantastic day, and I'm happy to make some accommodation suggestions for anyone interested!

We're putting together the room layout now, you should hear back from us in the next week or two.

So where do you recommend staying? I'll be car-pooling with another SydLUG member (if we can fit all the Lego in his car:)) and we are looking for accomodation Sat and Sunday nights. I would also be keen to meet up for dinner on one of the nights if some of the BrickExpo people are keen...

Dinner on Sunday sounds like a good idea, but I'm not too sure about dinner on Saturday night - I plan to go to bed at about 3pm on Saturday as setup is from midnight. Regarding somewhere to stay, throw me an email at connor dot hicks at optusnet dot com dot au and I'll put together some info on various places for you.
