It's quiet in here..
Hi all! It's so quiet in here, I just saw a tumbleweed roll by!!! Seriously though, what's everyone up to? Myself, I'm not up to much, just easing myself into the new year. Does anyone have anything special planned for Australia Day? I'm having some friends around for a beer and BBQ.

Re: It's quiet in here..
I am hoping today to get a chance to start building up some of my technic sets, I am not sure I if I want to build them all up or just a couple and use the rest of my parts to try and design / build a "super car"

Oz Day for the last few years has been either Hottest 100 parties or going to Big Day Out. Spent way too much money this weekend already so have just been sweating it out in the summer heat, listening to JJJ and drinking with some mates.
Re: It's quiet in here..
Darrow and I were at a hottest 100 BBQ, I've been a bit quite here lately due to my involvement with Brickvention.

Re: It's quiet in here..
I'm still psyching up to sorting some LEGO into boxes.
Haven't been MOCing that much due to this.

Re: It's quiet in here..
I'm still here, just quietly building sets of all sorts in readiness for the local Model Makers Expo here in Hobart in mid to late March.
Drop me a line if your interested in coming down to display your lego as I say the more the merrier.

Re: It's quiet in here..
I actually frequent here quite a bit, but I've been bad and have not posted too much. I'm actually busy getting stuck into a MOC for the upcoming AMRA train show in October in Liverpool in Sydney. I kind of regret not going to Brickexpo, But there is a next year!!!.

Re: It's quiet in here..
We should all make an effort to create a new topic (for example new Mocs, how to plan an exhibition/convention, what we'd be interested in seeing, what our future plans are, etc) and post our views in each others topics. Even with the five recent posters to this topic that would be 25 posts. By resurrecting this topic continually we re-inforce the notion that its quiet here rather than do something about it.

Re: It's quiet in here..
That is why I started the AMRA thread the other day, plus I like the irony of the quiet in here thread getting traffic
There is not much posting of MOCS on ANZFOL, but lets start changing that. I'll put my AMRA stuff on here, but it isn't finished yet.

What am I up to??
Hi everyone, just got back from the UK. I "survived " the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Christchurch yesterday at 4.30 in the morning. We got water mains back yesterday afternoon, and got power back just now. Still can't use the bathroom because sewage pipes are shot. Our house is fine although the centre of the city got thrashed. Only one person died, and that was from a heart attack. because it was in the morning no one was outside. the streets are filled with rubble.

Wow, glad your ok. Some of the footage from the news was incredible. After all the insurance work and rubble removed and buildings fixed, this is something you'll never forget.
