City 2010 (with pics)
New City Pics have been found on the net. (No Confidential Stamps so they're OK to post )

Anyways.. here are my thoughts. :
I like the new plane & airport. The plane even though looks the same to the last passenger one we got I like this colour scheme better. :
The airport looks better too. Is that a new piece used for the computer at the check-in desk? (It looks like it has a list of flight details) and did anyone notice the Air-Traffic Control Tower in the backround behind the plane? Its not too tall but I think it might be tall enough. Similar the CG Tower that comes with the big boat.
Looks like we're getting a new torso! (female) in the plane set. And that new hairpiece in brown?
When I heard "Seaplane" I imagined the Police Seaplane but with no stickers and different colour scheme. : : But this is way better! :O:
It looks like they combined the Postal & Ambulance Planes to make a new, better set.
Fire Helicopter: The nose piece is interesting it looks like they combined these two pieces to make the new nose piece.

I like the helicopter, I think its one of the first decent Fire Helicopters TLC's ever made! (like fits more then 1 minifig) I like the water gun and seat and that "basket" thing is supposed to drop the water on fires so I like how its realistic too. :
The tanker is alright. If I get the airport I'll probable get this to go with it. :

This line's OK, the best set being the one with the pigs.
Wasn't that hairpiece in brown in the Camper?

Hmmm Somehow I thought I remembered Bricklink saying the camper one was the same colour as the traces hairpiece in the Agents 2.0 Robo set... : ::YG-49 wrote:This line's OK, the best set being the one with the pigs.

Dark red? That's a possibility.
EDIT: Peeron lists it as that too. RedBrown.

I missed the last airport, so I'm glad there's another coming, and I quite like the colours of this plane.
I also like the fire helicopter. I'm not so mad on the seaplane, its too small compared to the six wide trucks that are current, though I think the police seaplane was too big. Somewhere in between would be nice. The nose piece in white or blue would be useful for Japanese bullet trains.

If that Petrol Tanker is a seperate kit, it's on my list! I think it would be part of the Airport though. I like the Float PLane and the jeep that comes with the Fire Helicopter, although I don't think I'll be buying these next year. Great ideas though and fantastic to see some pics!

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
Ya know, usually I would be excited by a LEGO airport, but I bought the last one, and I can't say I was impressed. The set carried a big price tag, and there are very few recyclable parts. So I don't think I'll be getting this set...ever...

I'm pretty sure the list people have found of the kit names indicates the tanker is a seperate kit.

Im going to have to agree with Zuloo on this one the only really good parts where the windows. The windows on the airport where exelent. I espeacally liked the curved one about the revolving door. But apart from that the parts don't lend them selves to re-use

2010 Train sets on flickr.

I can see it being an expensive year for me as I am a town / train collector.

Well from past actions we can probably predict the trains will be around for three years, so we don't have to buy them all at once. More importantly I wonder if these will be stocked at retail. I finally found a cargo train at Myer last year, but had to order track from S@H. Myer will probably stock them initially at least.

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
I normally cant wait too long. I bought 3 Emerald Nights from LEGO S@H when they came out (for the extra carriages) and recently 3 more from a toy shop. Will rebuild one loco in red as Hogwarts Express and one in black as a NZ loco. So will get both the new ones and probably an extra passenger one so I can lengthen it and use battery and motor on my Emerald Night. It is currently powered by 9v motor under the coal tender.

You might want to check shipito.com. I've recently ordered two modular firestations from US S@H and had shipito remail them out here. Because of the way cheaper US prices it works out OK even with shipping via FedEx. My next order I'll try to get them to repack into standard size boxes so I can try to take advantage of shipito's much cheaper shipping deals, I'd lose the original Lego boxes in that case though.

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
Thanks. Got a quote back from a bricklink seller and the modular firestation was going to cost $ US 50 to post to NZ re boxed smaller.

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
Hi Peterab. How much did postage on these items cost? Was it a fairly painless setup to get an account and have them mailed out? I'm pretty keen to try this solution to Australia's frustrating Lego Exclusives drought.peterab wrote:You might want to check shipito.com. Re: City 2010 (with pics)
The postage on the whole order ended up being $178, but it was mainly the shape rather than the weight that was the problem. Next time I'll consider getting them to take the parts out of the boxes, and repack into standard size boxes, which should bring the cost down further.
Even with the above shipping the low price I paid due to free Lego shipping and a 10% Xmas discount for over $300 oders etc, I came out slightly ahead.

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
I got Commodore Hornbricker from Eurobricks to purchase the 3 modular buildings, pack the bags into standard boxes and send them to me. With the Green Grocer on special for $120 USD at his local LEGO store, the cheap US prices of the other two and postage, I ended up paying him $500 USD. Pretty good deal considering the sets alone would have cost me $750 AUD.
Re: City 2010 (with pics)
There are reports of new city sets hitting the shelves in both SA and NSW. People have seen the Lighting Repair Truck in particular. Keep an eye out and report back if you see anything. I'll go out and look later today.

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
It certainly is coming in.
TRU has got
3177 small car,
3178 sea plane,
3179 reapir truck,
3180 tank truck,
3181 passenger plane,
3182 airport,
3222 limo + heli
all at RRP
But KMART has all the above at discount right now. go figure
for example standout deal. the Airport is rrp at $149 at TRU, whilst at Kmart is $114. I almost fell over and bought one. I'm still tempted now. .. I really love the look of the plane and the airport despite it being very spartan on the brick side.
another one. is Creator 5891 Apple tree house. $85. at TRU at kmart just $65. At first I didn't really like this house, but after looking at it, it grows on you.
Big W also has some new sets in as well but dearer than kmart.
Just as an aside, I've been to a few Kmarts and they still have asizeable amount of 6754 family home at their clearance price of $99. I'm checking regularly in the hope it gets marked down further (you never know). I'll give you guys the heads up if it drops further. Yes. I love this house. I think its the brick count and the light tan that does it for me.

TRU and Kmart both had new city sets yesterday at Northland. Prices as guymontag reported.
BTW guymontag what city/state are you in? Could you add it to your profile? It would be really helpful in a thread like this

Re: City 2010 (with pics)
I went browsing around a few department stores and found very little other than a handful of the new sea planes at K Mart.
Once the Airport and few better items arrive I will start to buy otherwise I might have to consider BTTW again.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. They have provided me with baseplates for my layout at a very good price.Free Spirit wrote:otherwise I might have to consider BTTW again.

Brad the owner seems like a nice guy. We discussed the power functions battery charger. He advised me to buy through the US as he couldn't compete on price. It's rare to get that sort of honesty from a retailer. He has also been very generous to my LUG, such as donating prizes for our monthly Moc competition.
