Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
Nice thread Tychop!
The BSB is an awesome set, and it is certainly one of my favourites. Why don't you save up for one? They only go for abou $700 MISB on eBay.
But I think my favourite set would have to be 10194 Emerald Night. I'm a Pirates fan, but 10194 is just such an awesome set...gah, I can't wait for more cars!

My favourite is one of my very first. 328 Biplane I was so young when I got it I can't remember getting it. I know I had it when I was seven. One of the first things I did after my dark ages was replace a broken plate for the wings.

Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
Geez.... this is a hard one!! : I think for me, at the moment I'm split on 7744 and Green Grocer. IMHO both sets are designed really well and have great playability. They also look great. 7744 needs a touch of work done to accommodate the vehicles properly, so in that regard Green Grocer has the edge.
But, at the end of the day, you can't really answer this one, as every year it seems TLG is producing something bigger and better! For example, in about two or three months time, my answer will be Fire Brigade! ::

Mine would have to be this one:
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/8455
I got it a couple of years ago and love how it works.

Pwned. A tad harsh Zuloo, do you know his Mum or something?Captain Zuloo wrote:And where are you getting the money for that one from?
Emerald Night is a fine set. In fact TLC have done some nice work with the train theme. The Santa Fe was a bit more of a poke in the eye, it was the first to really make me take note of Trains.
Best set ever is very hard to pick, you almost need sub categories.
I'm going to choose "Load and Haul Railroad" (4563)
It was the set that got me out of the dark ages (no need to explain that term here is there?)
Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
Very difficult choice. I'll choose what started it all for me. Set 367. I am showing my age here but I had so much fun playing with my brother. The lunar module separated, it had a moon buggy and you could change the heads to the old school figure heads. I still use the blue slopes today to build little houses for the kids

Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
Ohhhh, what a choice. I'm going to go along with a few others on this forum and cast my vote for one of the first sets I ever received: the Classic Space All-Terrain vehicle: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6927-1
I loved this one as a kid, particularly the fact that it split into 2 separate play sets, and the addition of technic pieces was a huge increase in flexibility for my collection. When I got back into Lego earlier this year, this was the first set I went hunting for on Bricklink.

Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
My favourite set of all time is a modern one, the Medieval Market Village.
My favourite set for sentimental reasons is the camouflaged outpost.
If someone was going to donate me any set, I would pick set 1066 (36 little people) because it has 3 white pigtail hair

Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
Yes a great post. I have a few favourite sets as my taste has changed over the years. As a young girl i really liked this one (when i was 8-12): Enchanted Island
I did not own it but a friend of mine had it set up in his room and i was oh so envious!
Now that i am able to buy my own Lego i really like the market street modular and although i never liked the fire station that much at first (I just bought it because DJ's had 30% off after Christmas) it has a great interior and i love the roller door.
I also have an Indian set which i really like: Chief's tepee
I could probably go on forever...

Re: Favourite LEGO set of all time
There has been some amazing sets!
Some i like for sentimental reasons some are just cool factor value.
Currently im in love with the modular sets as i have just discovered them but when i think of some of my favorite sets of ALL TIME one that sticks out in my mind is Lego set #8002, the Star Wars Technic Destroyer Droid.
It was fun to build, looked awesome and i LOVED the "action feature" rolling and popping open guns come out WOW love it.
