Brisbane EKKA
The Brisbane Ekka is in full swing and the highlight of the show for many, many kids [big and small] is the LEGO display in the Courier Mail Learning Pavilion.
Ryan McNaught is displaying his 'Love Boat' plus MOCs that he is building on site.
So far he has built these amazing creations.
Ancient Ming Vase
'Friends' Rabbit
Ice Cream Sundae
The members of BrisBricks have been very happy to assist Ryan in displaying his marvellous creations.
Brisbricks has been very fortunate to be able to promote our LEGO EXPO to over 100 000 visitors. The response from families has been very positive.
It seems that every family has a LEGO creative artist who is ready to take Ryan's job.
3 more days to go and many, many more little eyes to emerge themselves in the wonderful magic of building with LEGO.

Re: Brisbane EKKA
It hasn't in the past. There's a limited number of groups (only four I know of at the moment) in Victoria able to put on a decent large LEGO display. It normally depends on the organisers approaching one of those groups and that group being free and wanting to do it.jigsaw wrote:does Lego turn up at every Show? ie; will the Melbourne show have a Lego display?
By the way Ryan has close links to LEGO, but I think this may be his own activity, not an official LEGO Australia one. LEGO Australia will refer these sort of requests to him if they get them though since he is officially certified by TLG.

Re: Brisbane EKKA
The Ekka is over for another year.
The 'Love Boat' was the first point of call for many families; even before the rides.
The Ekka itself finds a sponsor to bring Ryan north for 11 days; last year he brought the 'Apollo Rocket'.
LEGO Australia does not sponsor his visit or assist in decorating the booth. They do, though. send up a few barrels of bricks for a play area.
If LEGO Australia had sent up some LEGO Club forms, I am sure 50 000 children would have signed up.
The other exhibitors in the pavilion were over the moon with the 'Love Boat' as most families viewed the boat and then went through the pavilion looking for further exciting things to see.
All in all, a great 10 days for Ryan and the LEGO brand.
BrisBricks can look forward to a successful Lego Fan Expo in October due to a huge number of families becoming aware of the event.
