What sets are you chasing next?
A simple thread to find out what everyone is looking for to add on next to their collection.. I can safely assume we all have a 'next' piece right
I've been hunting in particular for these 2 sets -
How about you?

I have a ton of sets on my 'wanted' list, I won't list everything.
But I would really love to pick up a Unitron Monorail.

I dreamed about getting the carpark set when I was a kid, there was no way of me ever getting it but I wanted it sooooo much, all I had was the picture of it from one of the small Lego booklets. Its still a great set and it hasn't aged that badly, I could still see it being used with current Lego and not looking too out of place in a modern city.

It's currently residing just down the road from me.. literally. One Bricklink seller in Brisbane has it misb for $450. Basically I refuse to pay that much (don't need misb - i just want an opened but complete copy) and regrettably he is not negotiable. Oh well patience is a virtue.
Re: What sets are you chasing next?
Olivia's House is the next set I'm after, but I'm not going to pay the NZ price for one even if I could find one here.
That carpark set is a nice classic set and I didn't realise it was as old as that because I'd seen it so often in photos in company with later issue city and town items in displays.

$450, thats Crazy. There isn't really that many bricks in the set, You could probably get them all for under $200. The base plates would probably be the most expensive part.

I love those Creator house sets. Most probably out of my price range, but I'll be using ideas based on them when I build the houses for Kotanga township.

i love classic space lego. i collect SW sets already, but im leaving them in their boxes for the future. clasisc space was my favourite as a kid, and i want to get them all, becausse i dreamed of having them, and now i can make that happen. classic space is fantastic; no good vs. bad, just a simple exploration theme. i also have a MOC moonbase concept i think i will try in the future.

I have that wharf set in my town downstairs :D it's awesome!!
Given that i am currently taking a break from building my bricklinked Cafe corner, i should cross that off my list... But i have the Green Grocer (which i will also BL) and the Palace Cinema on my list.... as well as random parts for MOCs and MODs....

I really share your interests on classic space. It's only my affinity with classic train that has tied up funds from collecting the classic space thus far. Also the lack of good stuff on Bricklink and or halfhearted sellers on there (e'g asking for pics but never getting replies etc or misleading set descriptions). Recently I came across a largish haul of complete Space sets on ebay from a buyer whom I'd had previous positive dealings with. Regrettably I stumbled across the haul at the last minute and was slightly short on funds and suddenly the next day he had offloaded the lot >.<
It's sad that better stuff seems to be appearing on inflated ebay recently too, instead of the same ol ragged pickings on BL (or so it would seem to me)
Re: What sets are you chasing next?
Really want this set as of a couple weeks back.
Found something incredibly frustrating.. Did an Ebay search and saw a sealed version went for $179 on March 4th in an auction.. only 1 bidder.. hard to believe.
The same buyer is reselling it on Bricklink for $1750.
Dammit why didn't I start my search 2 weeks earlier I feel so pissed off right now!

Re: What sets are you chasing next?
I don't think I could have the cheek to buy a set at $179.00 and then try to sell it again at $1750.00. Then on the other hand that's most probably why I'm poor as a churchmouse while less principled folk have money to burn.
I hadn't seen that Maersk line set before, looks like the ship uses the hull sections from the old fire fighting ship only in blue instead of red.
I'm having better luck with ebay than Bricklink these days, but I do have to watch out for traders who think some older parts have a gold content and aren't actually 100% plastic.
I'm watching an auction for Olivia's House at the moment and it's got to the stage where I could bid and most probably get it, but I might have to forget about eating for a week if I do.

Not really, the way the bidding has gone I think I'd do better getting if from one of the Asian traders on a Buy Now with free shipping. It always amazes me how some folk go nuts with their bids on ebay and end up paying way over the odds for stuff.
The Emerald Night is one cool set and I'd like to have one too, but I think I might build one up from parts over a period of time as the bricks come my way. I'll most probably build it another colour too as I have quite a few of those curved slopes for the boiler, but just not in the official dark green with gold edging.

Re: What sets are you chasing next?
Olivia's house is pretty common in shops, perhaps holding out for a Myer sale etc could prove rewarding?
Got mine for around $80 from the states but then saw it cheaper in a sale here one time

I think most parts should be available in the right colours and if not it wouldn't be too hard to find acceptable substitutes. I've been trying to hold back from building a "Friends' town. The cafe MOC I built has an almost 'Friends' colour scheme, I thought I'd shaken it off when I built the small patrol base Police Station and now the urge to build with pastel bricks is becoming almost overpowering.
