LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Hello all, just wanted to show you the first story of the Modular Post Office i am trying to put together. If i'm happy with the design i will attempt to build it for my city. It's along the same lines as the Pet Shop in that the PO will have residence above it and either a house or another shop (not decided yet) as the second half. Anyway, some pics for you, there are some items in the PO shop and mail sorting room out the back (a bit hard to see as the stairs block the view) and a nice sitting area for the staff out the back of the sorting room. Let me know what you think and suggestions welcome :D
Front view from above (dw i've fixed the missing brick problem there!!)
Inside the shop/PO
View of the 'backyard'
And finally front on view
Hope to hear from you all :D i'll put pics of the second story up once it's done :D

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Yeah i'll wait to see how well i can finish it off but i would like to brick build it, but i also need to save the $$ to do that haha, that's why i've started in LDD cos it's free and i would have the right bricks in my collection right now to do a modular. I'm just about to start on the second story now :D

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Rightio, first floor and this is a one room apartment or bedsit i would call it. And of course stairs leading up to the 'penthouse' apart
Front view of the building
Inside view of the first floor apartment (the flower wouldn't fit while the brick was there lol)
And the rear view of the building
So far at 842 bricks and me thinks it's time to put the 2nd floor and roof on photos to follow

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Great work, I like the original colour better, the browns and beige colours look really nice together with the red and yellow tiles and red trim on the roof and windows. I would buy this set. Where do you go to create these on the net? I came across it ages ago but never gave it a go.
BTW, If I build Lego for to long I always see bricks all night long, sometimes I think Im going crazy.

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Um...... I think I prefer the original colour scheme too. With the brown and beige scheme the red pieces made for some nice patches of contrasting colour. I really like the use of the small round topped windows on the top floor which helps to give what could be a very utilitarian building a little bit of 'fancy' to brighten it up.
For a long time I had my doubts about LDD as I like working with my fingers in the bricks to solve a design problem, but I can see that once a MOC gets to being 1200+ bricks it gets harder to build something without some kind of design help.

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Thanks for the feedback, it's interesting to know what others think especially when it's nice feedback.... haha
Yeah i don't know what it was about the original colour scheme i wasn't sure about, and i still can't quite put my finger on it. But after sleeping on it, i think the second colour scheme is too much of the same colours, so i think i prefer the orginal colour scheme now too haha
Ajax: LDD is available for free from the Lego website, i just googled LDD and downloaded it. It's really easy to use and quite good fun. Here's the link:

Annie: yeah i always preferred working with real bricks too, but i know i wouldn't be able to do much cos once i build something i like i don't want to rip it down, so i always run out of bricks/have no bricks suitable for what i want to do. And given you don't need to buy the bricks on LDD, it's a good compromise...
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it :D

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Honestly, I still like your original colours best, I think your newer designs have too much red, I liked the splash of red through the original design.
I downloaded the design software but it went all blinky and crazy on me, I will try it again today, I only have the net here at work, can't get it at home untill I buy satelite.

Re: LDD MOC Modular Post Office
Yeah, I agree with Ajax. While this colour scheme is better than the one previously, your original one was best. But I can see you've put a lot of effort and detail into it.
