what is the ultimate technics set? i have never bought technics sets, is there a rare highly sought set akin to the 10179 MF?

It really varies as they are quite different and what one person likes another might not.

To me these are the best sets:

9398 - Rock Crawler (A fully remote controlled 4x4, my personal favourite)


8455 - Pneumatic Backhoe (Close to the most "life like" set ever, features 10 pneumatic cylinders)


8880 - Super Car (Seen as the best studded set ever, this would be the closest to the ultimate classic.)


8110 - Unimog (this has all the normal technic features plus an air compressor to run all the functions)

I have an 8880 it is still one of my favourite sets ..

It also has an excellent B model which makes it even better than a lot of big sets..

The unimog and crawler for example have average B models.
