custom hair piece

Post by TazManiac on Sat 18 Dec 2010, 1:30 am

after seeing an amazing custom hair piece on Classic-Pirates.com I thought I'd have a crack seeing as I had the materials on hand.
not painted yet and its only a first draft but has some potential.

here's some more pics of the first two attempts.
needs a lot of refining before I'll be happy to add it to my collection as I'm a bit of a purist but trying to get over that hang up.
the part I find hardest is just how much detail to add, too much detail makes it look non LEGO but not enough looks silly trying to find a good medium.

let me know what you think and apart from being smoother/glossy what I need to add/change.
cheers

They're both great. I'm a purist myself but these certainly don't look out of place.

Very nice! What sort of material is that? Some sort of putty? I like them a lot!

Do you think PoTC will give us similar hair pieces?

I agree on that front they defently are not out of place on that sort of ****. They look actually quite professional.

Sort of thing Capt'n Zuloo might be interested in.
