What is the large light grey thing that is vertical attached to the red semi trailer?

I like the yellow excavator. Its pretty impressive.

Thank you, I have the pieces for abut 20 more models but as I am missing the building guides for these so I am mainly doing MOC's these days.

That is a 4.5V battery box. Contains 3 'C' sized batteries.
