MOD - Set 8110 Unimog U400 with PF driving and steering Empty MOD - Set 8110 Unimog U400 with PF driving and steering

Post by Paul B Sun 08 Sep 2013, 3:22 am

Recently I decided to try adding PF driving and steering to set 8110 Unimog U400. Below are some photos and a video of the end result.

Parts used are:
1 x PF L motor
1 x PF servo motor
1 x PF IR receiver V2
1 x 8-tooth gear (Used in drive line for L motor to gear down)
1 x 24-tooth gear (Used in drive line for L motor to gear down)
1 x 7L beam

A small number of other pieces such as pins, axle pins and some small 3L and 5L beams to mount the engines.

The L motor for driving has been mounted in place of the fake 4 cylinder engine, the servo motor for steering has been mounted at the rear of the centre control area, just in front of the rear diff.

When adding the PF system I wanted to keep the original look of the set as much as possible, except for the PF IR receiver on back of the cabin it looks "stock".

Photos and a video are on my blog:

Thanks for the reply, I am glad you like it. I am planning on making some more changes to the Unimog over the next few days.
