So i know there's a Friends bakery (?) but this Modular is the other half to my Post Office, and right now i'm happier with the bakery than the PO. Here's the first floor, interior is a little bit lacking (maybe?). Would love to hear what y'all think :D

Inside view with sink, serving area, cheese and bread counter, (crappy) coffee machine and croissant freshly baked on top of double bread baking oven

And the back with seating area for a coffee and a snack, or maybe a cold drink from the fridge inside.

I'm pretty pleased with this so far, and it's only the second thing i've MOC'd so be gentle haha :p

Nice try, needs a little work on the interior.....a better coffee machine and ovens.....but I do like an original glass counter display cabinet design....very nice indeed.

Looking good, Have a look at the 'Winter Bakery' they have a really nice little window display showing all the cakes and muffins etc, I think the same type of display would work in your window. I actually bought the Winter Bakery set and made it a regular bakery, I just changed the snow capped roof and made a few small mod's and it looks great.

thanks Ajax, i'll check it out.

I must admit, interior isn't something i'm all that good at and cos i would have these in my town set up with the other modulars my focus is exterior, but it would be nice to have interiors good too :D

thanks for the feedback all!!

I don't do interiors at all well, In fact I don't really do them at all. Most of the time you can't really see them and I just want my city to look good from the outside, Im so shallow, lol.

ahahaha, that's exactly what i thought about interiors, but i must admit this has been quite satisfying doing these ones. But i agree, the important thing is making the city look good haha

so, anayway, i've rejigged the interior. I'm quite happy with it, and managed to fit in everyone's suggestions legohappy which were all good... Let me know what you think. I really like and i think i will be bricking this one before the PO.

LDD MOC Bakery Bakery13

The top section of the Cap machine will hold glasses but the program won't let you place anything where there isn't a knob, which is also why the baguette is just floating off to the side, there's no where for it to go lol

and FYI, never do the interior after you have more than a couple of bricks high on the walls around, it's very frustrating haha, i took great pleasure in blowing it up after i was done :p

I'm not sick of what you're posting at all - I really like the look of how your MOC is coming along. If you have the money to get all the parts, it'd be quite a sight to see in real life!

Haha thanks a lot LJ legohappy i've got a bit distracted tonight with Ajax's idea of giving my cinema a back so haven't done anymore on the bakery, but i certainly am saving my money to buy the bricks for the bakery. I'm quite pleased with it :D

Si i finally got around to finishing the roof ( i blame Ajax for the suggestion of making my cinema larger, i have pieces on their way for that) BUT, here it is, the roof itself is very simple as there is a lot going on around it. I'm definitely saving my money to brick build this legohappy

LDD MOC Bakery Bakery19

front view without the roof on, but a leafy rooftop balcony is prominent.

LDD MOC Bakery Bakery20

You can't quite see ( i realised after i uploaded the photos that they're not very good angles!! Sorry) but there is a big BBQ, and outdoor table and a deckchair there.

LDD MOC Bakery Bakery21

and finally with the roof on and the chimney in view, once again, basic roof as there's a lot going on around the balcony.

Let me know what you think. I'm sure i'll tinker a little bit before buying the bricks so any comment welcome :D

Honestly, I really like the building and think it would look great bricked up but I don't really think it has a bakery feel about it, I kinda think it looks more like a florist or something. Maybe if you put a bread basket with some bread sticks out the front (like the bread basket in the village bakery) it might get more of a bakery feel to it. Im not that keen on the yellow flowers above the door either, unless it was a florist and then they would work. Actually maybe it looks more like a fancy cake shop rather than a bakery, you know one of those private wedding cake shops in the posh part of town, maybe Im wrong alltogether, I do really like the overall look of the building and the coloure os the building.

Post by timmyc1983 Thu 07 Mar 2013, 11:54 am

hahaha thanks for the feedback Ajax :D yeah i had one of those boxes to put out the front and the baguette style bread to chuck in it but LDD won't let me place the bread anywhere cos it doesn't have stud holes on the bottom of it (lame i know) so there will be baguette style bread in the brick version. I am right now on a break from brick inventory for this building, then i'm gonna hit up bricklink to get a vague idea of cost and go from there. I'm really strapped for cash atm tho (spent all my money on my BL cafe corner (with a MOC interior :D) and the cinema and wot not) but i'm really keen to brick build. So i will think about the cake shop (that's a good idea, and is sort of quiet similar to wouldn't take much adjustment) and see how things go cost wise. I am super psyched about this building tho.

And yeah, i've modulised the cinema, i should be getting the first of those bricks next week sometime and i will post on here when i start (super psyched about this conversion too :D)

thanks again for the feedback!! :D

Hello all, finally this LDD project has been brick built and finished! I'm pretty happy with my first moc, although as I started building it I could tell it was my first, a few dodgy building techniques haha anyway here's the photo, I will post better pics when my Internet is back

Right well, as promised some more pics. My internet situation is only marginally better than before, but LEGO is priority legohappy So i have put some overall pics here and the rest can be found at my flickr (link's in my sig). Some of the interior is not quite finished yet (mainly the bed) and i'm missing some tan 1 x 1s and 1 x 2s here and there but i really wanted to get it finished and in my layout.

Anyway.... pics:

Oh no, i just realised the owner has fallen over, too many fancy cupcakes most likely! legolaugh

He gets knocked down, but he gets up again!!! legotounge

LDD MOC Bakery 8750585856_6983da9396_z

Apparently i forgot how to join bricks together when i was building this part....

LDD MOC Bakery 8750589984_a9412c27e3_z

And all the floors taken apart.

I'm pretty happy with the way it's all come together, although i'm sure i could have done it more time efficient, it's built now and that's the important thing legohappy

hope you all like it and comments and suggestions more than welcome!
